New customs charge for online shoppers buying goods from outside the EU 📦🛍️

📢 From 1 July 2026, when you buy goods online from outside the EU (including England, Scotland and Wales), you’ll have to pay a customs charge.

⚠️ The charge is €3 per item in your parcel and applies to orders valued at €150 or less.

🤔 You won’t have to pay the €3 charge per item in some cases, for example, if you buy 3 of the exact same items (3 cotton t-shirts). You’ll be charged one €3 customs duty.

🔬 The charge can be applied at checkout or on delivery.

💡 Keep in mind that even if the website address ends in ‘.ie’, it doesn’t mean the location of the business is in Ireland.

📋 You should check the terms and conditions on the seller’s website to find out where the business is located, and how the charges will be applied to your order.
