After nearly 49 years running Lydon’s Bar, I will be moving on to the next chapter in my life. I do so with many memories that I hold dear, including all of the time with my locals who have become great friends.

I have so many people to thank including my brother Ger and sister Dolores. You have both done so much for me, I could never thank you enough.

To Patricia Delaney & Colette Mills, thank you both for your years of hard work. You have both been stalwarts by my side as have many staff who have come and gone.

Thank you all for your support, business and kind words. We’re not done just yet with plenty more memories to make over the coming days and evenings. The keys to the kingdom will then be handed over to my friend Aiden Leonard who I’m sure will do an excellent job as he has done so with his other venues.

Leonard Catering LTD are delighted to announce that they will be taking over the running of Lydon’s Bar & Restaurant in Knockdoe in the coming weeks.

After nearly 50 years of the bar being in her family, Martina Lydon will be stepping back from a business that her father purchased in 1975 and moving on to her next chapter.

Lydon’s Bar & Restaurant comes with a special connection to the group as Managing Director Aiden Leonard got his first job there many years ago. The Leonard Family also have deep roots in the surrounding area making it the perfect addition to the group.

What can you expect from the new Lydon’s Bar & Restaurant? We’ll be putting our own imprint in areas where we can in line with our other venues. You can expect live music, great food, drinks and a warm & inviting atmosphere. We cannot wait to show you more. Please be sure to follow the new social media account: Lydon’s Bar & Restaurant

We’d like to wish Martina the very best of luck with this new chapter in her life. We hope we can do your legacy justice and continue making Lydon’s somewhere the local community and beyond can be proud of.
