🍺🚤 OPEN BOAT RUN 2026 — WITH AN OKTOBERFEST TWIST! 🇩🇪🎶

It’s that time of year again! Get the boats ready because this year’s Open Boat Run is heading up the Woodford River to Church Island — followed by a night of food, music, b**r and plenty of Oktoberfest craic! 🍻

📅 Saturday 26th September
🕛 Leaving Ballyconnell Marina at 12 noon
🚤 A leisurely run up the Woodford River to Church Island, where we’ll stop for some light refreshments and, hopefully, a few tunes along the way. 🎶

We’ll then head north back towards Ballyconnell, where the celebrations continue in the Crows Nest B**r Garden.

🔥 BBQ & FOOD — around 7pm
🎵 LIVE ENTERTAINMENT from the fantastic Green Diesel
🍺 STEINS OF B**R
🇩🇪 OKTOBERFEST THEME NIGHT!

And this year, we’re bringing a bit of Germany to Ballyconnell! 🇩🇪🍻

So dig out your Lederhosen and Dirndls, get the steins ready and come dressed for the occasion! 🥨🍺

❤️ MOST IMPORTANTLY — THIS YEAR’S RUN IS ALL FOR A GREAT CAUSE.

Proceeds from the 2026 Open Boat Run will go towards supporting The Irish Formula Futures Team.

Whether you’re joining us on the water, meeting us back at the Crows Nest, or simply coming along for the music, BBQ and Oktoberfest atmosphere, it’s sure to be a great day and night.

Join us for a fun-filled day of giant games & activities for the whole family!

🏫 Ballyconnell Community Centre

This marks the launch of our Family Games Evenings, starting on Tuesday 7th July. These evenings are all about friends and family coming together to play board games and have a little screen-free time. More details available soon.

This event and our games evenings are made possible through support from Peace Plus, run through Cavan County Council.
