The Corn Mill Theatre which is only two minutes from the Hotel, has presented many National & International plays. Many of the plays have been premiered in the Corn Mill before going on to Dublin or to the West End in London or Broadway! Recent hit plays 'Alone it Stands' and 'Stones in my Pockets' are good examples. There are seven golf courses within 10 miles of the hotel. Belturbet Golf club, 18 holes and Ballinamore Golf Club, a 9 hole course, both have very moderate green fees, while the Slieve Russell Golf Course in Ballyconnell has an 18 hole course of international reputation. Lough Rynn Castle (course designed by Nic Faldo) is 9 miles away in Mohill. Radisson Blu Farnhan Estate Golf Course is course on the Crossdoney road to Cavan, six miles away. Angling in Carrigallen
Carrigallen is at the heart of the lake systems of the Midlands of Ireland. Major lakes and lakes not-so-well-known, are within a few minutes of the hotel. Coarse fishing is the specialty and Bream, Rudd, Roach, & Pike are plentiful. Game fishing is catered for by the local Angling Club, for which the visitor can become a day-member for Euro15. Calloughs Lake, a mile outside the town, is stocked yearly with both Brown & Rainbow Trout. The hotel annually co-hosts the King of Clubs, & stena line challenge Angling Festivals with great success, both from a fishing and entertainment point of view, with many anglers re-booking on departure. Almost 4 tonnes of fish was caught over a four day period by 100 anglers during the recent king of clubs. Local Lakes include: Town lake, Calloughs, Cullies, Garadice, Glasshouse, Kilnamar, Errew, Gulladoo & Gowna. (Click on any of the aforementioned for further details). The water around Carrigallen, from the upper reaches of the great River Erne system, five miles to the west and south, are a host of fresh water lakes and rivers which empty into the Shannon.
