The Rustic Inn and the wider Abbeyshrule community are deeply saddened by the passing of Ursula McGoey a much loved family member, neighbour and truly iconic person of our village.

On Thursday 21st May 2026, Ursula passed away peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, surrounded by her loved ones, in her 92nd year.

Ursula was a cherished member of the Abbeyshrule community and will be fondly remembered for her gentle nature, kindness and lifelong friendship to so many throughout the village and beyond. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, relatives, friends and neighbours.

May she Rest in Peace 🙏🏻
