Who is he? He is the former head of ex-Prime-Minister John Howard's department. BUT WAIT!

Moore-Wilton was given the job as CEO of Sydney Airport Corporation Ltd (SACL) when Howard privatised it to Macquarie Bank. What happened next? THIS happened:

They had 100% proof that Schapelle Corby's bag was tampered with at Sydney Airport, on Moore-Wilton's watch, just after privatization. It was the ONLY bag not scanned.

Absolutely vital evidence? Damn right it was.

Moore-Wilton, Justice Minister Ellison, AFP Commissioner Keelty, and Howard were the gang of four who definitely knew.

When she asked the government for help, they never told her. They never told her lawyer, even when he asked directly about scanning four days later. They never told the Bali court. They watched her fry.

STILL they have never revealed it.

EXHIBIT: Qantas v SACL – The Veil Slips (Hansard)

On 5th July 2005, the CEO of Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL), Max Moore-Wilton, sent a note to AFP Commissioner Michael Keelty and Justice & Customs Minister Christopher Ellison informing them that Schapelle Corby’s boogie-board bag was the only one not scanned for the flight to Bali. In other words, that it had been diverted around the scanning system at Sydney Airport, which clearly indicated that it had been tampered with. Prime Minister John Howard was informed by Michael Keelty shortly thereafter. However, instead of providing this vital evidence to Schapelle Corby, her legal team, or the Bali court, all four men withheld it.

Four months later, within the Joint Committee Of Public Accounts And Audit Committee, on Wednesday, 23 November, Head of Group Security for Qantas Airways Ltd, Geoffrey Askew, acknowledged this state of affairs. For three days at the start of July, 2012, I was in court, at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in Brisbane, with Mercedes Corby. We were fighting for the right to access information on her sister Schapelle, which is held by the AFP. They were refusing to let her see it. They were suppressing it and hiding it from her.

We were pretty sure we knew what is in the files, and what they prove. But they were censoring them, citing reasons like "in the national interest", and "damage to international relations", which are more important to them than justice, a life, and human rights.

I also have to express my disgust of the "no expense spared" use of taxpayer funds, to stop Schapelle getting access to information ON HERSELF.

Mercedes and I knew we were up against it when the AFP presented TWO Lawyers: one being the AFP lawyer, and the other from expensive private law firm, Clayton UTZ, both flown in from Canberra, both accommodated for three days at tax payer expense.

Four witnesses were also tele-linked from Canberra for interview. Proceedings were watched (one-way), from IGIS HQ in Canberra, via a camera in the courtroom (again, rather a lot of your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$). They called in the Inspector-General of Intellegence and Security, her assistant, an AFP SES 1 Policy Manager, a commander of the AFP, and the FOI team leader for the AFP.

All were telling the judge how terrible it would be for the national interest, and the nation's security, if the truth was revealed.

Seriously. This is exactly what was going on.

Mercedes was amazing. We did our best, but it was against all the odds. We were told we should hear the results in 2-3 months.
