First Midweek Comfort: Beef Rendang

Today the first Wednesday takes the stage: beef rendang — 200g of beef simmered for hours in West Sumatran spices until a spoon is enough, served with warm steamed rice.

One of the dishes our regulars love most is the Balinese Steaks with Rajang Sauce.

Rajang (sometimes "rajangan") is a fresh Balinese sambal — chilies, shallots, lemongrass, and lime, sliced fine and lightly cooked so it stays bright and
sharp. We spoon it generously over a grilled protein of your choice: tenderloin, chicken fillet, mahi-mahi, marlin, or king prawn.

It's the kind of dish that surprises people who came expecting "simple." Served with steamed rice and the vegetables of the day.

The drinks list deserves a mention

We talk a lot about the food, but the bar at Made's is just as considered.

Alongside a full cocktail list — our own Made's Signature Cocktail, a proper Negroni, Espresso Martini, Mojito — we pour Bali Signature Cocktails built around arak, Bali's traditional spirit. There's a w**e list too (Hatten and Two Islands), cold beers, and a genuinely lovely range of mocktails for those not drinking, including a Made's Signature Mocktail with banana, honey, and vanilla ice cream.

Whatever your night looks like, there's a glass for it.

Yes, it's cozy — warm wood, soft light, a room that doesn't rush you. But the kitchen is ambitious: Filet Mignon Béarnaise, a Salmon fillet in butter cream sauce, a seven-item Seafood Platter, Balinese steaks finished with rajang sauce, and a rendang slow-cooked in West Sumatran spices.
