Dear all,

A few days ago, we made the tough decision to close our doors permanently after 16 years of operations.

The past three years have made it impossible to run a live music business in Hong Kong.
This HKSAR continuous illogical and unsubsidized « Live Performances ban » simply made it impossible for us to go on and match a Soho commercial rent and related expenses.
Holding on to the hope- every two weeks- that the Gov would announce the lift of the ban, led to a financial and mental disaster.

Live music was our blood, our core business for all these years, accounting for 90% of our revenue : we couldn’t suddenly turn our place into a tacos joint or a fancy steakhouse ...

We survived tough years, pointless weekly police raids in Peel Street, a psycho neighbour, and tried to turn things around many times, but...let’s keep in mind all
those great nights and talented artists we had there.

Thanks for your support and joy throughout these years .

Hong Kong’s live-music venues have adopted both time-tested and creative strategies to keep their head above the water in the time of a pandemic.

Dear friends,
A few words of update of what Peel Fresco can provide at the moment.
As a night live music venue, and with new gathering constraints, we can’t really do anything else but serving take away food and drinks.
Carr’s special bbq Yakitori skewers are available all day, and after 6pm for take away. Choice of 2 skewers with beer for 100hkd , and with home made sangria for 120hkd.

We also have a good range of wine bottles for you to take away and enjoy at home (also applies after 6pm). Feel free to walk by and check it out !

Options for bands to rehearse on day time are possible , please contact us on FB or [email protected] for détails.

As you know we must close our doors tonight 23:59pm for undetermined period.
Let’s live it up one more time with these 2 bands we are delighted to host:
James and is Potato Heads (8pm) + BenziNe (9:30pm)

James and His Potato Heads are a recently formed East Coast (Sai Kung) based jazz band playing a mixture of trad jazz, New Orleans, French jazz, and more recent (1950s!) classics.

BenziNe are a multi cultural Hong Kong based band who play an eclectic mix of Folk Rock and Americana covers and original songs.

You can also just bring your instrument, sign up, and get your JAM ON!!

Dear Peel Fresco supporters,
We did not know if we would be able to keep our place opened one year ago, and we seriously doubted it back in June , when live music was still considered as the worst enemy in town. We withstood these sad months together and were finally authorized to organize concerts again in the summer. We truly thank you for your support during these rough times, and you can be assured the spirit will remain the same as it has been for the last 15 years.
