Excellent food adds immeasurably to the success of a holiday, and when coupled with an unrivaled setting, well, it's what we all hope for in our travels. Cloud 10 is all the name evokes: an elevated and transporting dining experience, yet neither pretentious nor expensive. Set high on a hillside in the tiny village of Petri, the taverna overlooks the lovely harbor of Petra. At sunset, the view from the terrace highlights the brilliant colors reflected in the sea and the sweeping vista of hills that ring Petra. We visited in spring before the island is crowded with visitors and were treated to unrivaled Greek hospitality from the owner Gabriel, his talented, lovely chef and her equally lovely daughter. The chef has such a delicate touch in the kitchen producing classical Greek dishes, especially light and fragrant with her subtle touch. We loved the restaurant so much that we dined there 4 of our 6 nights and would have been happier if we had dined there all six! Still, we carried away lovely memories from Cloud 10 as we returned home to sea level.
