Started early this year, although don’t need an excuse to fly our colours. St. George’s Day is on the 23rd April, so let’s start the celebrations of everything great about being English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 now. Great pubs, great ales and great music. We have it all!

It's Craic time again folks. Irish or not, this is always a fun time following month's of dreariness. So we've turned green (not political) for the next few days, to bring everyone cheeriness in difficult times. From some great Irish tunes alondside our usual bangers, not one but TWO fine Irish stouts, Guinness, which some describe as the best in York, and our newest offering, Caffreys Dark Stout, the choice is yours. This weekend, St.Sampson's Square is the place to be, with the York Irish doing all things Irish, and the Cranes doing the best of both. We look forward to seeing a great crowd singing along, and then again on the 17th March for the 'official' St. Patricks Day where we will, once again have more Irish tunes to jig along to.

NEW PRODUCT ALERT!!
We are exited to be letting all you stout lovers know that we will be introducing Caffreys Stout to our bar from Thursday 29th January. Only recently launched this month, or should I say re-launched by Caffreys (first lauched in 1897), a lower abv (3.4%) will help keep the costs down so that we can keep the retail price competitive.

Tasting notes:
“Roasted malt and cocoa dominate, complemented by a gentle bitterness, caramel notes, and a hint of liquorice for complexity,” say the tasting notes. “The hop presence is understated, allowing the malt to shine.

“Nitrogen infusion creates a silky, velvety mouthfeel with a soft texture that coats the palate without heaviness, making it highly drinkable.”

To all the customers who have helped to make this yet another marvellous year in our little pub, thank you all so much. A very challenging year ahead in the hospitality industry but we are looking forward to the challenges, and striving to excel as always.
