🚨 CHANGE OF START TIME 🚨

We’re changing the start time of the first race tomorrow to 2pm or 1400 which ever you prefer.

This will allow the brook to fill up just a little more and so the worst of the rain will (hopefully) have passed so the spectators don’t get as soaked those running!

This Saturday…….1pm……..

There’s two types of people on Brook Race Day, those that do it and those that wish they had.

Entry open from 12pm, this years charity will be chosen at random by any one of our entrants.

Have a really fun day out, donate other people’s money to your chosen charity, listen to some amazing live music, eat great food and drink till you wobble home.

What’s not to like?

There’s not even any eels in the Brook this year.

Something else in there must’ve eaten them 😉

🏃‍♂️💦 THE BROOK RACE IS BACK! 🍻

Saturday 29th August. Save the date.

One of our absolute favourite days of the year is nearly here — the annual Brook Race at The Who’d Have Thought It!

Expect racing through the brook, plenty of questionable technique, lots of cheering, cold pints, great food and a brilliant afternoon at the pub.

We’re very lucky to have our suppliers catch some of the best fish in the UK daily off the coasts of Devon and Cornwall.

We are even more lucky to have our head chef David Lane turn these catches into dishes that we are really proud of.

Pan Fried Grey Mullet with grapefruit, heritage tomato and yuzu salad on the specials board now and Smoked Mackerel Pate with Squid Ink new to the starter section.

New, creative and a taste of Summer.

We may be an old pub but we really aren’t just any old pub ❤️
