Paul Daniels was playing for the away skittles team at the Alma last night. When they bowled they had twelve players and by the time they walked to the bar they had only eight.....and when they got back to bowl there were twelve again...that's magic! i did wonder if they had been to the Wishing Well Nursery next door because that's obviously where this behaviour belongs...but then I realised...it's just magic!!!

CHARITY NIGHT ON BEHALF OF KIDNEY RESEARCH - SATURDAY 9TH MAY. 7.30PM START FEATURING 'NO EXIT'

In 1996, way before I met many of you, I lost (well had removed) a kidney due to a congenital birth defect. I'm lucky in that the one I've got left has been pretty good, but kidney disease possibly affects many friends and family members of all of us.

On Saturday 9th May we will be having a 'Purple Party' at the Alma, where purple is the dress code for the night. 'NO EXIT ' will be playing (thanks to Brett and the boys for donating their services Free) and there will be a free buffet.

Entrance is free, but we will be bugging you for donations through the night.

Hopefully we can have a great night and raise some serious funds as well.

FIND ELGAR HIS HOME !

I let Ted our dog out early this morning and called him in as he was barking loudly. I couldn't believe it when i looked down Alma Street to see this little character wondering up the street. We enticed him into our back yard (see pic) with some salmon from the kitchen.

We've knicknamed him Elgar..but where has he come from, a private zoo, a passing circus...I know we've had seals in the Severn, but penguins!

I've just spoken to Albert Ross the head of sea birds at Dudley Zoo, and they will help if we cant find his real home, but please share and post we need to find Elgar's real home !

Please no jokes about 'Does he tap dance ?' or 'Have you Picked up a penguin ? we need to find out where he's come from.

He's happily splashing in our bath at the moment, but this can't go on forever...please help if you can.

We've all heard of mystery shoppers...well I've got a mystery personal trainer ! This person cares so much about my health that they borrow the car and leave just enough petrol in it for me to get halfway up Rainbow Hill and have to walk back to pick up a petrol can and trundle on back. i wonder if you can guess who ???

Well the Free Radio Phantom was in Worcester...and he was in a park with water, inbetween the Police Station and Droitwich...and was going to one of the oldest pubs in Worcester. We thought...we're in!

So we waited to claim our £3000.

Local after local came in, and as we got near to 12.30 frustration set in and it never came to be.

However, I must apologise to the pensioner I rugby tackled at 12.29 and 45 seconds....and for grabbing his lapels and for rythmically banging his head on the floor to the words 'Are you the Free Radio Phantom!'

The £3000 never appeared and was never claimed, but perhaps I should take solice in the £3 and free bus pass I obtained !

Thank you to the lady with the common sense, intelligence and fortitude to return the wallet to the pollce picked up by a bearded gentlemen at the Co op, Ombersley Road.

Just remember, we did find out who you were, and we used people with a particular set of skills, skill acquired over a long period of time. Skills that would have made it a nightmare for you. We did look for you, we did find you....but thankfully things ended up'Happy Ever After'!

Take this opportunity to turn over a new leaf, next time it might be an old lady's purse, do the right thing, hand it in...because next time that old lady might be the mother of someone with a particular set of skills !

How useless are the machines at Barclays in Worcester. Tried to pay in some cash....rejected one note as a forgery...then they had to go to the back of the machine to take it out. Found it was legitimate. Tried to pay in all the money and the machine ate it all!
Had to go to the back of the machine again, and pay it in by hand. 30 mins to do a 2 minute job. Great friendly staff..dont replace them with machines that take 10 times as long to do the same job!
