🎶💿 WELCOME TO T’AL’S VINYL RESTING PLACE! 💿🎶

We’re excited to join forces with Alan Draper to bring a little extra music to The Talbot! 🎵

Fancy a rummage through some classic vinyl, cassettes and CDs? Come and have a browse, give them a listen and if something takes your fancy, you can purchase it at the bar… 🎶💿

Whether you’re just here to listen or hoping to discover a hidden gem, everyone’s welcome.

A couple of small requests:
🎧 When playing records, please be considerate of our guests dining in the conservatory and restaurant they might not appreciate your favourite banger at full blast!
👧 Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.

So come and have a spin… you never know what you might find! 🎶

Just to clarify before more pitchforks come out… NO ONE is being asked to work for free!

We’re simply asking if anyone fancies helping, has some ideas, knows a good tradesperson or wants to get involved.

We do appreciate people have bills to pay…. including us 😉❤️

🎨 A little bit of colour has come to The Talbot! 🌈

It may not be very Talbot-esque… but we absolutely love these 😍

Ollie has kindly donated some wonderful original artwork to help inject a bit of colour, personality and life into The Talbot while we continue giving the place a bit of TLC.

🖼️ All of these pieces are available to buy — so if you spot one you like, get in touch with us for prices and more information.

And this got us thinking…

Do you have any artwork, prints, furniture, quirky pieces or anything else that you think could help bring some life into the hotel? We’d love to hear from you!

If you have something you’d like to donate or display for sale, please get in touch. We can advertise it here at The Talbot and hopefully help you make a few pounds from something you no longer need while at the same time making the hotel a little more interesting and colourful. ❤️

🖌️ A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY ❤️

Unfortunately, the sale of The Talbot has fallen through. While this is obviously disappointing, Annie and the team are determined to keep moving forward and make the best of things while we look at what happens next.

So… we’re putting out a BIG community plea! 🙏

We’d love some help giving the outside of The Talbot a much-needed bit of TLC making it look lovely for all of you punters who visit us and also helping us present the building at its best for any potential future buyers.

There’s plenty that could be done, including:

🪜 Sanding, repairing & painting the windows
🎨 Giving the front of the pub a fresh paint job
🛠️ General repairs and tidying up
🌿 Any ideas you might have to improve the outside
💪 And, of course, anyone willing to get stuck in and lend a hand!

And if you’re handy with a paintbrush 🎨the inside of the pub and hotel could definitely do with a lick of paint too!

We already have some amazing local support, with people chipping in and helping us with various handyman jobs around the place and we’re incredibly grateful. ❤️

So if you have a trade, materials, equipment, time, ideas or simply fancy getting stuck in and helping us give The Talbot some love please get in touch! 😊

We’ve got four delicious burgers on the menu this evening all £20incl a free pint, small w**e or draft soft drink and entry into the quiz.

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team at The Talbot in a varied, hands-on hospitality role.

✨ LIVE-IN STAFF COTTAGE INCLUDED ✨
A fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work in hospitality while having accommodation in a staff cottage attached to the pub.

No two days will be exactly the same! You’ll become an important part of the team, helping wherever you’re needed and learning new skills along the way.

🍳 In the kitchen, you’ll help with:
• Preparing food and meals
• Occasional breakfast cooking
• Pot washing and general kitchen duties
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly

🍻 Front of house, you’ll also have the opportunity to:
• Train on the bar and assist during busy periods
• Wait on tables and look after customers
• Clear and reset tables
• Help create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the pub

We’re looking for someone who is:
❤️ Friendly and approachable
💪 Hardworking and willing to get stuck in
😊 Positive and reliable
🌟 Keen to learn and develop new skills
🤝 A great team player

Experience is a bonus, but not essential — we’re happy to train the right person.

⏰ Flexibility is essential: you must be available for early mornings, evenings and weekends, as hospitality means working across a range of shifts.
