Hello to all the followers, as you will all know the Mount Pleasant has been closed since the passing of our wonderful previous landlord Mike Morris.
There has been a planning application submitted to the Council as there is a plan to change the function of the second floor apartments to Holiday Lets.
Once this planning gets, hopefully accepted then work will commence on the property to carry out the work that is necessary to turn the property into a quality product suitable for the kind folk of the Battenhall Comminity and wider area.
The Holiday lets should not pose any additional strain on the limited parking in the area as transport links that surround the area are sufficient to service the Holiday lets.
The Pub will also have a makeover to bring up to the standard that is required to serve the clientele in the area.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to Mike's funeral and wake yesterday.
It truly was a celebration of his wonderful life.
We were all blessed to have known him and will all miss him.
Thankfully we have our memories that will keep this beautiful man alive for a long time to come.
In his own true 'grumpy landlord' words: "Thanks for going".

Followed by a celebration of his life at Boughton Golf Club.

As you may all well know by now Mike Morris our fearless landlord has been battling cancer. I’m sorry to say but today at 3:25pm in Malvern community hospice he finally passed away peacefully. Surrounded by his friends and family so wasn’t alone.
I visited Mike a few times, even took Flo dog to bark at his window, and every time I went he was surrounded by friends. There was never fewer than 4 people every time I went, which just shows you the love for the great man.
I had the pleasure to know Mike for nearly twenty years, he banned me a few times, hit me loads, sworn at me hundreds of times but made me laugh a million times. He didn’t sell roast chicken crisps because they were popular and he refused to be so busy. He liked cash and hated cards and don’t even ask for a tab!
“If there’s something in your pint mate, you put it there” “If your pint tastes funny it’s your taste buds”, “There’s lipstick on my glass Mike, that’s cause a woman drank out of it before you?”
The till does work just not for Mike!
I’m not sure what the future brings for the mount, but I can guarantee you one thing, you’ll never get another Mike Morris.
