Are you looking for a new job by the sea? 🐚

Come join our epic team in a family run pub in Woolacombe bay. We’re looking for a Grill/Prep Chef to join our kitchen.

What’s the role?

- Help run the grill section during service
- Cook burgers and grill menu items to a consistently high standard
- Assist with prep work and keeping the kitchen organised
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Be a team player, we’re a tight-knit crew who look out for each other

What are we looking for?

- Some kitchen or grill experience preferred, but we’ll support the right person to learn
- A calm, can-do attitude and willingness to muck in
- Someone who takes pride in doing a good job
- Level 2 Food Hygiene a bonus, but not essential

Today is a big day at The Jube, as Julie officially begins her well-earned retirement 💛

Where do we even begin? Julie has been a huge part of The Jube for years — working with Gaz and Mags in the early days and, more recently, with both Charlotte and Tim. Through every change, every challenge, and every curveball, she’s been the steady hand behind the bar.

She’s survived refurbishments, team shake-ups, new systems, new processes, and even a global pandemic all with her trademark calm and humour.

From the relentless Friday and Saturday nights that ran past 1am (usually later) to the countless busy shifts that would break most people, Julie was always the one holding the fort.

And the number of times we called you at the last minute and your answer was always a yes, never a no.

There truly hasn’t been anyone more dedicated, loyal, or hard-working behind our bar. You’ve poured thousands of drinks, looked after thousands of customers, and somehow kept smiling through it all.

Julie, you’re one of life’s soldiers. A grafter. A legend. An absolute diamond. We salute you. 💪

Thank you for everything you’ve done for The Jube, for Gaz and Mags, for us, and for the whole village. We’ll raise a shot of Black sambuca in your honour 😜
