We are a Free House which means we are free to choose what we serve when we want to serve it, we are not tied or connected to any Brewery who tell is what to do. We listen to our customers and we pride ourselves i

n our carefully kept cask conditioned real ales. We don't do Food...but on Friday night we have curry night , where you place your order by midday Friday from our menu and its delivered to your table at 7 30pm, by the Gurkha Inn in Winchester. Wednesday Nights Darren from Catch a Fire Pizza pops by the Pub with his wood fired Pizza Oven & serves amazing Pizzas. He also alternates it with his Fish & Chip Van. 🧩🍺 The Great Wonston Jigsaw Race! 🍺🧩

With the warmer weather finally here, our pub jigsaws are disappearing faster than a fresh pint on a sunny afternoon! ☀️

The latest challenge – The New Yorker – is nearly complete, thanks to a steady stream of puzzle enthusiasts, pint drinkers, wine sippers and chat makers. 🍷🍺

One of the loveliest things about having a big communal jigsaw in the pub is watching complete strangers sit down together, share a few pieces, swap stories and leave as friends. In a world that spends so much time looking at screens, there’s something wonderfully simple about gathering around a table and solving a puzzle together.

Just a few pieces left now… then it’s time to unveil the next challenge! 👀

Darren’s talking us through today’s menu and, quite frankly, it all sounds ridiculously good. 😋

From juicy burgers to loaded fries piled high with flavour, there’s something here with your name on it.

Now, the Landlord is trying very hard to stay impartial… but those Butter Chicken Loaded Fries might just be the greatest thing Darren has ever put in a takeaway box. 👀🔥

🔥 BANK HOLIDAY SURVIVAL MODE: ACTIVATED 🔥

Poor Darren from Catch a Fire survived the Caribbean Pop-Up on Bank Holiday Monday… only to come back Wednesday and stand in front of a WOOD FIRE OVEN in nest 40° heat 🤣🍕☀️

“Why not make it even hotter?!” 😅

The good news for the rest of us… the pizzas are going to be absolutely unreal again 🍕🔥

Catch a Fire Pizza Night returns to the best little pub in Hampshire this Wednesday from 5pm–8pm.

🦜☀️ PUB LIFE JUST GOT EVEN WEIRDER… ☀️🦜

Only at the best little pub in Hampshire do you pop out into the beach beer garden on the hottest day of the year… and find a PARROT enjoying an afternoon pint pit stop with his humans 😂🍻

Perched up in the beach garden, taking in the sunshine, giving us the odd little squawk and generally acting like one of the locals already 🏖️🌴EPIC 🤣

Honestly… village pub life never disappoints 😅 what a fun filled Sunday it’s been
