Thank you to all our lovely customers and staff that took part in a last minute sweep stake at the pub yesterday, you helped raise £220 towards the charity. The winners were Lynsey and Nigel Bolton at the guess of 5.26. Well done guys!!

A little belated but we wanted to share a brief message to wish all our customers a happy new year. Thank you to all those that chose to see in the new year with us and thank you to Humph and Johnny for the fantastic entertainment.

Also a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout 2025. As an independent business it is so humbling to be so well supported in a world dominated by big breweries and big pub companies.

As I’m sure you can imagine a lot sacrifices go into making the Christmas period a success from long hours, working key dates and overcoming logistical challenges. It’s impossible sometimes to imagine how many meals we serve with such limited space. I’m sure all customers will join us in extending a massive thank you to all the team who continually contribute so much.

We’re excited to get stuck into 2026 and stand ready to invest further and improve.

We’re delighted to announce that on the 18th June we signed a new ten year lease at the Horse and Jockey.

With the new lease comes some exciting times as we are now commencing some refurbishment work.

Work on the men’s toilets starts today and will take approximately 1 week.

The pub remains fully open with temporary toilets for the gent’s.

The following week we will be refurbishing the ladies toilets and also doing some work on our signage.

We appreciate in the interim there will be a little disruption but I’m sure you’ll agree the toilets are in need of a facelift and when complete all the disruption will be worth it.
