Beaky’s Birthday Bash x The Purple Dawgs! 🔥🤘🏼🎸

If you know our pub, chances are you know Beaky! Beaky is a true friend of our pub - and anyone who knows him will know there’s nothing he loves more than a bit of rock music. So, naturally, there was only one way to celebrate his birthday… with the return of The Purple Dawgs! 💜🎶

By popular demand, one of our most-loved bands will be back on Sunday 20th September from 4:30pm, bringing you a belting afternoon of classic rock favourites from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Expect legendary guitar riffs, huge sing-along anthems and plenty of rock ’n’ roll as we raise a glass (or two!) to the one and only Beaky. 🎉

The Wivenhoe Music Trail! 🎻🥁🪇

What a day! A few snaps from today’s festivities as we celebrated the brilliant local music scene right here in Wivenhoe.

We kicked things off with our loyal Tuesday Night Buskers, who brought us their signature set and got the day off to a cracking start 🪘🎶

Then it was over to Aryn Clark and the wonderful folk session, filling our garden with live music, good company and plenty of atmosphere 🪕🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who played, popped in, sang along and supported the musicians. And a HUGE thank you to Teo, who organised today’s events and helped bring the Wivenhoe Music Trail together. Days like this don’t just happen, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the time, effort and hard work that went into making it such a brilliant day! 🫶🏼🎶

Wivenhoe Music Trail! 🪇🪗🪘

The very first Wivenhoe Music Trail is taking place on Saturday 12th September! 🎶

If you haven’t heard about it yet, it’s set to be “A day of music all around Wivenhoe!” - with live music, open studios, workshops, DJ sets and more popping up in venues and unexpected spaces across town!

Here at the Black Buoy, we take a lot of pride in supporting local musicians, so we’re delighted to be part of the very first trail with two performances happening right here at our pub! 🍻

🪕 12pm - The Black Buoy Buskers

Our loyal Tuesday night crew are making a special Saturday appearance! Join us from midday for an entirely acoustic performance, with a mixture of 60s & 70s pop and rock, familiar standards and a few other oddities thrown in for good measure!

🎻 3:30pm - Folk Music Session with Aryn Clark

Then from 3:30pm, Aryn Clark will be hosting an informal, open folk music session. Everyone is welcome - whether you fancy joining in and playing yourself, or simply grabbing a drink and enjoying the music!

The brilliant Sinéad Orme returns to The Black Buoy on Monday 31st August from 5pm, bringing her high-energy acoustic set back to Wivenhoe. ✨

With powerhouse vocals, feel-good favourites and singalong classics spanning the decades, it’s the perfect excuse to grab a cold drink, settle into the b**r garden and make the most of your day off.
