Crown Lodge Hotel History

1975: The business purchased by the present and then young owner of 25 was known as Crown Service Station (Outwell) Ltd. The restaurant and conference rooms were the car showroom, the sign and garden area at the front was the site for six petrol pumps, bedrooms 1- 6 was a wooden transport café and bedrooms 7-10 was a small bungalow for the owner/operator at the time. The

garage workshops of that time, situated at the rear of the site, still operate carrying out MOT’s and servicing and are part of the same company as Crown Lodge Hotel.

1978: Squash courts were built and a bar and restaurant were developed in the showroom. At the time squash was a booming sport (Still is!) and the club was quickly established.

1988: Bedrooms 1-6 was built where the old cafe was.

1990: The bungalow was converted into bedrooms 7-10 and they were linked to rooms 1-6.

2005: MAJOR alterations were made! It included not
just a new look but also created a brand
new kitchen, a climate control and
ventilation system throughout the public
areas, free WIFI, and a computerized
system linking bar, restaurant, kitchen and
reception to each other.

And yes… your £35 ticket includes loaded fries. 🍟
And we're not talking about a few chips with a sad sprinkle of cheese either. We're talking proper loaded fries piled high, loaded up and spilling over the sides. 🤤

So if you've been saying "we should do something" for the last six months…
