Like many hospitality businesses across the UK, we’re facing increasing pressures from rising costs. That’s why we’re supporting the VAT’s The Problem campaign, which is calling for a reduction in hospitality VAT from 20% to 10%. The campaign is being spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge and has the backing of hospitality businesses and organisations across the country.

We’re not asking you to take our word for it—just to take a few minutes to read about the campaign and what it could mean for local pubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and the communities they support.

Another early and busy start to the day… This morning I’ve been trialling fluffy American style pancakes to go on our breakfast menu… Topped with Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, seeds and nuts… need to work on the presentation, but the taste is there!

Wowsers! What busy weekend we have had both in the pub and with guests staying with us. To top it off, one of our wonderful guests proposed to his girlfriend yesterday… And she said yes! We are so happy for them both!

Today, bank holiday Monday, we are closed but will be open again tomorrow - doors open at 4 pm. The forecast for the remainder of the week is looking pretty sunny, with tomorrow being particularly hot. Please bear with us if things take slightly longer than usual during these hot periods- working in these temperatures is no joke, and the welfare of our team is always our priority!
