**ANNOUNCEMENT**

We are thrilled to announce that The Giant’s Rest pub in Wilmington will soon be reopening under the new name of Long Man Inn, in tribute to the iconic chalk figure the Long Man of Wilmington. Following a complete refurbishment we look forward to once again welcoming customers through our doors to enjoy good local food, drink and accommodation in a warm and friendly setting.

We very sadly announce that The Giant's Rest will not be reopening under James & Issy.

It has been a very difficult decision to instruct liquidators, after a most turbulent year and sadly, we feel we will not be the only ones taken down by the pandemic.

We would like to thank each of our supporters, neighbours and regulars for their custom and moral support, from the bottom of our hearts. Our team, past and present helped shape The GR into a fabulous venue to visit and work in.

We hope to see you all again another day. Love and hope to each and every one of you 💜 James, Issy and family xx

We would like to thank of our very loyal customers, and lovely villagers for the incredible support shown this year. It has been humbling and heart-warming to be on the receiving end of such kind words and beautiful gestures. We simply cannot thank you all enough.

Stay safe, keep well, drink gin, and we'll see you all on the other side for a nice cold pint when all this has blown over

They say third time's a charm, right?!

Tomorrow (Christmas Eve) will be our last day trading until we are released from Tier 4.
We are serving drinks and substantial meals 12 - 2.30pm with the team locking up at 3pm.
Bring your containers and freezer bags with you as -
🍺 All draught beers will be just £2 a pint!!
🥮 Homemade Pheasant & White Wine Pies are 4 for £15!! (Takeaway only, freezer ready)

Given the stock losses from previous closures, we are afraid to say that we will not be open for takeaways this time round.
We will be spending this time as a family, our very first without working right through the festive period.

Cheers to all, keep on smiling and we thank you all for the support you have shown us in 2020.

We're delighted to still be in Tier 2 over Christmas time this year 🥳🎅🎄
Which means our Festive Menu will be available this weekend, or we still have availability for Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Years Day lunches. We also have our super set-menu for New Years Eve available 😋

Remember, you don't *need* to order a substantial meal if you're only having a non-alcoholic drink. But if you are eating, we are serving up some corkers this December, including a £3 portion of tomato pasta 👀
