Hi everyone, lots of people are asking, so for those who want to attend, Russ's funeral is 10am this Thursday 27/01/2022 at Ince Crematorium.
After the service the family will return to the Tudor to console and mourn privately. They hope you all understand.

Hey everyone,
First of all Frances, Rebecca, Sara and I want to say an enormous thank you to everyone for all their condolences, memories you’ve shared about my Dad, all the cards you’ve sent and for all flowers we’ve received. The response has been staggering which is obviously a testament to how lovely you all are, but also a testament to how much you all thought of him.

Given that this is such a large change in our personal and professional lives we’ve made the decision to close for a month starting tomorrow Friday 21 Jan so we can have a little time to ourselves, concentrate on the funeral (which is next week), and so that we can take a little time to get our house in order and come out the gates fighting fit and raring to go.

So, tonight is the last night that you can get your Tudor on for about a month.

During that time we’ll be having a bloody good clear out, and I may even get round to pulling out some old wiring that’s surplus to requirements..(Don’t hold your breath). We’ll also be getting the new manager up to speed, sorting out new menus and generally just sprucing things up and looking to the future.
Covid restrictions are a changin’ so this also seems a good time to address that and see how we want to handle things after this month.

Tonight is also the last chance you’ll get to see Rob’s cherubic yet bearded face behind the bar as he’s moving on, we want to thank him for all his hard work, and wish him all the best for impending fatherhood and every success in the future, even though sleep will be off the menu for the next 18yrs.

So yea, last night tonight to have a booze in the Tudor for a month, we’ll be back soon, we just need a little time to process and sort things out for the next chapter.

Thanks again, you’re all bloody amazing, hope to see you tonight, but if not I hope to see you at some point downstairs enjoying yourselves real soon.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Russell Miller Snr (Big Russ), beloved husband to Frances, father of Russ Jnr, Rebecca and Sara, and landlord of the Tudor, passed away early Tuesday morning.

How do you sum up into words a man like my Dad, when there isn't really enough space to do him justice.? Over the years, he's been referred to by many, many people as the “legend” “the dude” “the man” and all things in-between, as well as (strangely) mistaken in looks for a whole generation of 1970's character actors (De Niro, Pacino and McShane - the list goes on).

We just simply knew him as the kindest, most patient, understanding and funniest man you could meet, with a wit only surpassed by the dryness of his delivery. He was the truest friend you could wish to have and quite simply the greatest man our family will ever know.

Over the 38 years, he and Mum have owned the Tudor, he has seen countless people come in and feel happy and secure enough to be themselves and make the Tudor their own. He was always incredibly pleased and proud to see generations of regulars go on to pursue their dreams and the life they wanted to build, even though he knew it would ultimately mean they would be moving on and moving away from the Tudor.

He’s seen so many of you succeed and, in some cases, move to the furthest reaches of the globe. He truly liked every one of you and even had the pleasure of considering some of you as friends. You’ve all been so lovely to our parents over the years, and we can’t thank you enough for that.

This doesn’t mean the Tudor is closing. Rest assured we will be remaining open. You can’t get rid of us that easily.

Our Dad was brave and tough to the very end. He’ll be sorely missed by everyone who loved him and is irreplaceable.

His family will miss him every day, but now it’s time for him to get some peace.

Knowledge of the local scene with a clear vision of how to work within it and ability to create and manage events.

A strong character who can train staff and maintain discipline and morale.

Excellent product knowledge & demonstrate previous engagement with suppliers/reps

Someone who won’t settle for average and pushes themselves and their team to be the best.

With previous industry management experience (2yrs minimum)

Understanding of social media networks and able to maintain online presence.
