🔽FLASHBACK🔽

▪️Two weeks into making pies, it became obvious that one pie stood above the rest, the Malaysian chicken curry topped with a black sesame crumb.

▪️That pie changed everything for me & my vision.

▪️From that day on, I made a decision that every pie would have its own unique topping. Not just for looks, but because the crumb is part of the flavour, texture, and overall experience of eating the pie.

▪️People told me it wouldn’t work. They said customers wouldn’t get it. But I believed in it and stuck to my guns.

▪️Today, those toppings have become a signature part of Baldy’s.

▪️39 x National awards later, a Champion title, & seeing so many others embrace creativity and innovation in pies, I’m proud that I never backed down.

▪️What was once seen as a traditional product has become a canvas for bold flavours and new ideas by many artisan pie makers across the country.

▪️Here’s to pushing boundaries, challenging expectations, and inspiring the next generation of pie makers to create some absolutely insane flavours over the years ahead.

▪️The pie game has changed & we’re only just getting started.

From starting out as a small pop-up, to opening and closing a shop, then taking a leap of faith in 2024 and starting again as a one-man dark kitchen operation, it’s been a rollercoaster of hard work, setbacks, and determination.

▪️Two years later, 39 awards in total & then this year being crowned Supreme Champion & recognised as the best pie maker in the country is something I could only have dreamed of. None of it would have been possible without your support, loyalty, and belief in what I do. Thank you for being part of the journey.
