The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, and supported by trade bodies across the sector, such as beerandpub and britishinstituteofinnkeeping hospitality communities and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

This sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

What an AWESOME day we had yesterday for
Off The Pier - Festival 🍻☀️

Absolutely non-stop from start to finish. It was lovely seeing so many familiar faces, catching up with old friends, and making some new ones along the way.

As we say goodbye (but only for a little while), we just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported us, drank with us, laughed with us, sang with us, and made Barra Jacks what it is. Give us around 6 weeks or so and we’ll be back ship shape and shiny new 🤞🏻✨

A huge shoutout to our wonderful singer!
Kristina Llewellyn for entertaining us as our first ever live singer – and hopefully not the last! You were absolutely fantastic 🎤❤️

And of course, a cheeky thank you to our surprise special guests for helping us rock the place one last time 🤘🏻

As for this page, who knows what’s going to happen once we’ve reopened and all the new changes take effect.

Hopefully we can still bring you the same daft, weird, personalised adverts, posters, videos and banter we’ve always done while building a lovely little community of 1.3K followers.

If not, and this is goodbye from this page, then it’s genuinely been great fun making weird posters, silly videos, and advertising all the pub madness over the years and collaborating with Maggie, Andrea, Kathy, Hayley, Keiran plus many others – Dominoes, Pool, Bingo, Karaoke and everything in between.

Hopefully we made a few people laugh and fooled a few others with some A.I. Or tempted a few of you in for a cheeky pint after a rubbish week🍺

I’ve been Martyn, and it’s been a genuine pleasure 🫡
