Sun’s out, guns out! ☀️💪

This is how all Bank Holidays should be, lots of sunshine, smiles and the odd tipple! Speaking of which, we have fresh local ales from £4 a pint, Veltins Pilsner, delicious guests on cask and keg and carefully curated wines. We have a good range of Whitby spirits and cocktails at 2 for £16!

Enjoy them alfresco or inside our lovely characterful venue. If you get peckish, we have award winning street food from Yuzu, with kids eating free throughout half terms. Hatty, Shane and the team are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible and don’t forget the quiz on Tuesday!

So this weekend brings sun on Saturday and something a bit more murky on Sunday. Whatever it throws at you we have you covered! Fresh local ales from £4 a scoop, Veltins Pilsner, Guinness, Gravity Theory cider and selected guests from Brew York, Bradfield Brewery and others, it’s all gravy. Our wines are delicious and we have Whitby distillery spirits with artisan mixers. Enjoy them all in our wonderful venue or outside on the terrace, with our without award-winning street food from Yuzu. You are the boss!

On the mega screen we will be showing the FA Cup Final on Saturday. We are also starting to take table bookings for the England games in the World Cup, details to follow. Message/email us on [email protected] to get in there early for England, beer and street food in a fantastic atmosphere!

We still havetables available for the return of the quiz on Tuesday 12th at 7pm. It’s free to enter, multi round and you could win a prize! It’s a good excuse to pop out, enjoy fresh local ales and other beverages and show us what you know! The kitchen will also be serving award winning street food from YUZU Street Food. We had a blast during the first WGW of 2026! It was great to see so many of you here in the Old Town, making the most of the atmosphere and enjoying our hospitality!

This weekend brings the focus back to fresh local ales, delicious cask and keg guests, curated wines, artisan spirits and hand-crafted cocktails in our wonderful building! If the sun makes an appearance, our outside seats are waiting and it can all be enjoyed with award-winning street food from YUZU Street Food!

Early on Saturday we have the extra bonus of Liverpool v Chelsea on the big screen, so come in to enjoy the game and perhaps scope us out for the World Cup, which is fast approaching. Should be a cracker of a weekend so come and see us here on the cobbles!

Battle of the English clubs concludes tonight to decide who will play in the Europe League final and it will be on the mega screen at The Taproom. Hatty is waiting to look after you, serving ales, wines, spirits and cocktails with award-winning street food in front of the match!

It’s the weekend, the weather is delicious and our patio awaits! We also welcome our friends for the first Goth weekend of the year. Where better to come and enjoy drinks and award winning street food than in Whitby’s most atmospheric venue. Our old chapel is crammed with historic features and even has its own bats on the balcony! The tunes will be suitably curated and we are looking forward to a fantastic weekend!
