Burglary Alert - Whitby Rural
Important Message – Please do not ignore


Police are alerting you about a burglary in your area that occurred between ~ 20-22nd May 2026 on NEWTON LANE, near Newton Mulgrave.



It is understood at this time a property has been broken-into and copper/radiators have been taken.



Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding those responsible and help keep your community safe?



Please could you look over these questions to see if you are able to assist
your neighbour and North Yorkshire Police in identifying those responsible
and help making your community a safer place:

l Were you or any of your family members in during the above times?
l Did you see or hear anything?
l Have you had anyone knocking on your door touting for business / or asking for the wrong address?
l Have you had any strange telephone calls?
l Have you been a victim of crime (burglary or similar) recently but not reported this to us?
l Have you seen anyone loitering in the area or any trespassers on property?
l Have you seen any unfamiliar vehicles in the area?
l Have you found any discarded property outside your home?


Please show the above questions to each member of your household.



If you have CCTV please consider checking it for any unusual activity and let us know.

There will be a Repair Cafe event taking place at Danby Village hall on the 7th March. Revival are helping to collect items for Reboot North Yorkshire on the day.

If you have any items, but can't make it on the day, feel free to bring them to the pub (The Black Bull) and I will take them over. Reboot say, "We welcome donations of a range of working devices including laptops, tablets (such as iPads), smartphones and smart hubs (such as Amazon Echo – Alexas and Google Nests). Devices should be packaged securely with any chargers or cables included where possible."

If you are unsure how to reset them, I have been advised that they will be checked before being rehomed.
