Whitby Rising

Whitby Rising Whitby Rising - Year 2 of this great Whitby Music Festival to be held at Stripes Farm Saturday 22nd July. Great news for everyone who missed it last year!

Tickets here https://thelittleboxoffice.com/WhitbyRising After a successful first year held at Eskdale School Field, the event has now moved to a bigger site, Stripes Farm, on the Hawsker Rd and this year you can camp on site overnight and experience that authentic festival vibe. The family friendly festival is organised by local singer songwriter Alistair Griffin who wants to bring great music to

Whitby, a place where he went to school, and somewhere he regularly visits and a community he supports.

“It’s not an easy or a cheap thing putting on a festival, but we’re ready to work hard to make it a success. But you do need everyone pulling for you, so we’re keen for everyone to get behind the festival in its early years to build it together. We’re after volunteers to be marshalls, bar staff, car parkers and definitely a clear up crew. In exchange for a few hours labour, you can get yourself a FREE ticket for the festival and we’ll even throw in a bacon sarnie or some beers.”

This year the festival has more of everything. More stuff to do., more things to eat and drink, more music to listen to and get involved with, more kids fun and more room. So, now all you have to do is stagger to your tent as we are offering on site overnight camping this year. There will be lots of entertainment to keep the young ones busy with bubble parties, climbing walls, face painting, glitter art, 5 a side, Captain Kipper and more to be announced. And lots for the adults too; including the very popular Prosecco Bar, a Whitby Rising Ale courtesy of Whitby Brewery, henna tattoos, a karaoke tent, and more to be announced. There will be ample supplies of festival food and drink, ice cream, sweets and treats, teas and coffees and some fantastic live music to keep you going. The doors open at 11am this year. The Whitby Rising Cup will once more be up for grabs at a pre-festival Crazy Tournament. Plus a FREE acoustic pre-festival warm up is being held at Whitby Brewery from 1pm on Saturday 11th June. There are a limited number of FREE tickets for 12 and Unders, so bring the family. The festival is raising money for Wet Wheels, a charity providing disabled people with the chance to access the sea in a fun, safe, stimulating and rewarding way using specially modified, fully accessible powerboats.
