So last week we bid a fond farewell to our lovely engine 💔

We are so pleased that she has gone to a brilliant home at the The Fire Brigade Museum and know they will take great care of her!

They are asking if anyone has any photos to share of her from years gone by or any stories and information about her? Either share in the comments or pop the museum a message :)

On behalf of the Frontline team we want to say a massive thank you!

We have loved our time on Portland and are sad to be going.

We are going to miss our wonderful customers and we are very grateful for the wonderful cards and gifts we have been given this week. We are really going to miss our little community and all the lovely times we've had. You have made Frontline what it is for us and we have loved being able to see you each day.

This isn't the end! And we will have some news to share in the not too distant future and we will see you all again soon 💜

We are delighted to share the news that our fire engine has a fabulous new home at The Fire Brigade Museum!

She will be well taken care of and looked after so future generations will be able to see her and learn about her history.

Here is some information about The Fire Brigade Museum.

"The objective of the Museum is to preserve the history of the British Fire Service mainly through the collection and preservation of fire engines from all eras, being both a tourist attraction and an interactive educational tool.

The Museum has the vital role of raising money to support 999 workers suffering from mental illness such as PTSD. We will do this by using the museum as a place to come to be supported by people who understand what they are going through. We will use all revenue raised by the Museum's activities to pay for the specific treatment required to help with their conditions to help them get well and back to work. Such treatments are difficult to access quickly if at all without private treatment access.

The Museum will also support young people who suffer from severe confidence issues or mental illness, as they transition from Secondary Education by offering Apprenticeships,Jobs and work experience in an environment where they are safe and supported to gain confidence and thrive amongst people who understand their specific needs. We hope to provide these young people with skills and confidence to progress to the career of their choice."

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that soon we will welcome this beautiful ex Commer fire engine. Made possible by the wonderful team . She will continue to play a big role in supporting 999 workers.

Wow, what to say?

We are quite overwhelmed and very touched at all the comments we have received on our closing post.

It means an awful lot to us, to see that we are going to be missed and what we have meant to you 💜

We will respond to messages and comments in due course, just catching up with things!

Just a reminder that we are open until and including Sunday 25th September.

Today we are running a reduced food menu as chef Emma is off.

Thursday - Sunday will be the full food menu.

Monday we will be closed as a mark of respect for the Queen's funeral.

We will put out a further post about what food will be on which days next week once we have it finalised.

We are also going to be selling various items so keep an eye out for that, if you've ever wanted one of our garden benches, now is your chance 😁

Once again, thank you so much, we will hopefully see you over the coming days.

So we have some news to share...

Frontline Cafe on Portland is closing, our last day of trading will be Sunday 25th September 😔

It is not our choice to close but due to circumstances beyond our control we have found ourselves in this position.

We have had a wonderful 18 months and are sad to be going.

We want to thank our amazing team for all their hard work and dedication, without them we would be nothing! And, of course, thank you to our wonderful customers, especially our lovely regulars, we are going to miss seeing your faces and having a catch up with you (and your dogs!)

A big thank you to all the musicians we have had play here, there's been some memorable nights for sure!

A special mention to the frontline workers that have popped in to see us regularly, to grab a coffee or a snack whilst working hard looking after everyone. And a big big thank you to our generous customers who have bought over 1000 'pay it forward' drinks for frontline workers...that is incredible!

This is absolutely not the end of Frontline! And we will see you again soon :)

In the meantime, please pop down and see us before we close the doors on Portland, we are here until the 25th and would love to see you all before we close.
