Edited update: Unfortunately this poor lady passed away 😢 such a waste of a life, and such a preventable death 💔
———————————————————————
Today’s admission needs all the hope she can get, as I suspect she has eaten rat poison and this is usually fatal outcome 😢
This big, healthy, adult female called Gina should be out making babies, but instead she was found partially collapsed in an alleyway behind the finder’s terraced housing. On admission I pointed out to her finders that Gina seems floppy like her muscles are far too relaxed, like jelly or a water balloon wobbling…which is how rat poison works; it paralyses the rat or whoever ingests it whilst the other ingredient interferes with blood clotting and causing fatal internal bleeding. It’s a horrid horrid way to die for any animal ☹️ The finders then said they have had words with a neighbour a few doors down because of their constant use of rat poison, which then supports my suspicion 😔
Rat poisons, slug pellets, weedkillers… they all affect more than their targeted species! Poisoned rats can kill cats, owls, and birds of prey for example. Poisoned slugs can kill garden birds, frogs, strews and snakes. Weedkillers can poison earthworms, beetles, and other vital creatures that are in the food chain.
PLEASE find alternative ways to treat pests! In this day and age where we literally have so much information at our finger tips there are no excuses anymore. What you do has an effect… make it a positive one 💜
