Hi! I'm Kay and I run Tewin Cowper Party Kit Hire on behalf of our PTA. I'm a wife, a mum of two, PTA Chair, the eco lead for our school, and a part-time worker for a lovely event and experiential agency.

I’m also increasingly become something of an eco warrior, ever since watching War on Plastic several years back and being totally gobsmacked at the sheer amount of rubbish we create every day.

Having two kids also means I get to go to a lot of kids parties and, while they are great fun, I can no longer fail to see all of the waste they create (my own kids parties included at the time). Not to mention the small fortune I've spent over the years on disposable drink cups, throw-away plates, themed single-use decorations, party bag / favours and other plastic packaged goods 😞

Our lives are busy but, like many others, I appreciate this can't continue. And I thought that if I’m thinking like this - others must too, right?

And so, whilst at a PTA meeting once, I suggested setting up a reusable party kit that parents, friends and the school could hire for a small donation of £5 to the PTA. I ordered seven sets of reusable ‘Brights’ plates, cups and bowls plus some serving jugs - and Tewin Cowper Party Kit Hire was born - an affordable way to hire reusable party ware AND reduce waste.

It was a hit right away and since then I’ve also included a second kit in pastels colours, cutlery, reusable bunting, decorations, serving bowls and plates and extended the hire area to the local community 🙂

In conjunction with changes I’m making in our family day-to-day lives to cut waste; this kit is my small effort to make our planet a better place for our childrens future.

I'm hugely grateful for every share, like and invitation to the page and hope that together, as a community, we can make one small change to make a massive reduction in landfill waste!
