So, some will know i moved up North in what i thought was my ideal job working for a Christmas lighting company in 2012. I had sold all of the display, just leaving a couple of lights sets. Hardly enough to do any type of display.
The move up to Lancashire wasn't quite what i thought it would be, i so missed Somerset and i couldn't wait to get back home to the west country.
With no money, or anything near what was needed to buy items for a big display, Manning Close lay dark, that is until this year!
Nikki my wife, who's equally as mad about Christmas as i am decided last Christmas that we were going to bring the display back for 2019, only this time, 3 doors up from the previous display.
The lights won't be sequenced to music and video this year, we've just not had the time to do it. Nevertheless, i think the display will warm people's hearts, especially for the holidays.
We won't be returning with a switch on either, again, we've just not had the time or resources to pull it off, well, for this year anyway!
Instead, the lights will be quietly switched on, on December 1st and will run nightly from 5pm until 9.30pm - We don't want to STUN the neighbours too much after 7 years of a 'Christmas Blackout' - it will be a low key affair, call it a 'Soft re-launch' if you like.
After taking on 3 feral pussycats this year, our chosen charity, should anyone wish to donate is Cats Protection Glastonbury & Wells Branch. There will be a large RED post box outside the display, where donations, whether that be money or food will be greatly appreciated.
From Nikki and myself - thanks for all the lovely support messages we've received about the return of the display for 2019.
