Welcome to Support from the Shires,

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Leigh-Anne Davies and Mangrove Integrated to our directory.

Mangrove Integrated offers something truly special for families across West Berkshire and the Shires, providing child-centred developmental assessments that help parents better understand how their children are growing, learning and communicating.

With a warm, practical approach, Leigh-Anne supports families in gaining clarity, confidence and guidance on the next steps that may help their child thrive.

We don’t currently have another business offering this type of support in our community, so we’re especially pleased to have Mangrove Integrated join us and make these valuable services more visible to local families.

It’s Monday and time for a coffee break!

We’re delighted that The Flying Saucer, who we introduced a few weeks ago, has now joined our wonderful small business directory!

Based at Milton Park, The Flying Saucer is run by the fabulous Emma, whose passion for supporting local businesses shines through in everything she does. From serving up incredible coffee and legendary hot chocolates to creating a community noticeboard where local businesses can share what they do, she’s a fantastic example of the supportive spirit that makes our small business community so special. Apparently her regulars say her jokes are amazing too 😂.

When we visited recently, we were blown away by Emma’s enthusiasm, kindness, and determination to help other local businesses thrive. It’s exactly the sort of business we love to champion at Support from the Shires.

If you’re passing Milton Park (just off the A34), make sure you pop in, grab a drink, and say hello. You’ll be supporting a brilliant independent business and, trust us, you’ll want to come back!

This week I popped by to meet Emma, the lovely owner of The Flying Saucer.

She very kindly offered space on her new community pinboard for us to share our leaflets, helping more people discover Support from the Shires.

Emma has created such a welcoming spot (and her hot chocolate is genuinely next level).

This week we’ve been busy behind the scenes… networking, chatting, and generally being very social (it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it 😉)

A big thank you to everyone who’s been in touch offering to share our website leaflets — we’re so grateful for your support, and we’ll be getting these out to you over the next couple of weeks!

Yesterday’s “work” also included a sunset walk with .thealth (we know… exhausting). We chatted all about an exciting new direction she might be taking which is very exciting stuff! If you’re looking for friendly, expert nutrition advice, Emma is absolutely worth connecting with.

We took a stroll along The Ridgeway, which feels rather fitting…..linking Berkshire and Oxfordshire, just like we’re trying to do (minus the hiking boots most days). We are also pretty sure we may have spotted one of the beautiful locations that Rachel runs her from!
