We’d like to let you know of a few changes that will be happening in the pub over the next few weeks.

From Wednesday, 20th of April we will be open as usual but as we are temporarily short staffed, will not be serving any food. We’re sorry we’ve had to make this decision but like many other businesses, we’re facing recruitment challenges which seem to be currently commonplace across hospitality.

We will also be closed all day on Friday, 22nd of April for a private family wedding but open again on Saturday the 23rd.

As of the 25th of April we will be serving food from a limited menu from Wednesday to Sunday which will continue for a few weeks. Unfortunately it means no Sunday roasts 😕

However all normal service for food at lunchtime, evenings, including Sunday roasts will resume from the week commencing the 16th of May when we will again be fully staffed.

We thank you for your patience and hope you will support us through the short term change and look forward to seeing you soon.

Many thanks,
Team Oak

Customer update about changes to opening hours this coming week.

The Royal Oak will be closed at lunchtime on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the 9th, 10th & 11th of March but we will be open in the evening as usual, for food and drinks from 6.00pm on those dates.

Lunch service will resume on Saturday 12th March.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you soon.

Best regards
Team Oak

We would like to wish our customers a very “Happy New Year”.

For New Year’s Eve, all of our tables are fully booked and we regret that we can’t take anymore bookings or walk ins.
We’re ensuring all customers are seated to keep everyone as safe as possible.

We hope to see you in the New Year and thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes,
Team Oak

Please take the time to see the new measures in place from July 19th 2021

We hope you’ve all stayed safe and well. Whilst we know that from Monday 19th July, all rules regarding social distancing have been relaxed and that the ‘rule of 6’ no longer applies, we’re keeping a few measures in place for the immediate future to ensure that we can all enjoy the pub safely.

Face coverings are now a personal choice but we’d recommend for the safety of our customers and colleagues, to continue wearing a face covering if you are able. Disposable masks will be available on request.

We’re keeping:

 A one way system, with the entrance to the pub through the front door and the exit through the door to the garden and out into the car park. Everywhere is clearly signposted.

 Table service to avoid congestion around the bar area.

 The NHS Test & Trace system, or paper forms, will remain for customers who wish to record visits, on a voluntary basis.

 Our current indoor table and seating plan.

 Hand sanitiser stations at both the exit and entry doors and outside the toilets.

 Single use condiments, i.e. individual sachets.

 Single use menus.

 Regular cleaning of door handles and common areas.

 Checking the temperature and any symptoms for all employees before starting work.

As always, thanks for your understanding, cooperation and support.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Best wishes from Andy & the team at the Royal Oak.

We are looking for someone to help drive trade commercially with enthusiasm, commitment & a ‘can do’ attitude.

We’ve been counting down the days and are really happy to let you know that we’ll be open today from 12.00pm, Wednesday 2nd December.

We’re in tier 2 and will be following current government rules for bookings, so please get in touch and book a table in the run up to Christmas. This means households and their support bubbles may book a table together to eat inside and the ‘rule of 6’ applies to meeting others outside to eat.

Of course, the safety of our staff and customers is still our primary priority. Rest assured, all our social distancing and hygiene measures will remain in place so you can join us safely.

Our opening times will be lunchtimes from midday until 3 pm Wednesday to Sunday and evenings 6 to 11 pm Wednesday to Saturday.

We really appreciate your support in such difficult times and look forward to seeing you again soon.

The Royal Oak Sunday service starts again.. Thank you for all your support, we can offer a few remaining tables for this...

The Royal Oak Sunday service starts again..
Thank you for all your support, we can offer a few remaining tables for this Sunday 12th July, ideally booking required 01458899883

Our plans to welcome everyone back as we have missed you all!

We’re opening on Thursday 9th July at midday!

We hope you’ve all stayed safe and well during these crazy times. Whilst we’re all adapting to our new ‘normal’, we’d like to share our plans for opening the Royal Oak and the changes that will be in place to ensure that we can all enjoy the pub safely, in line with Government guidelines.

We will be serving food and the menu will be updated on our website soon. We’re planning different opening hours for July and will be reviewing this regularly in order to get back to more usual trading hours as soon as we can.

Thursday-Saturday 12-3.00pm & 6.00pm-11.00pm
Sunday 12.00-3.30pm

Some of the changes we’re making:

A one way system will be in place, with the entrance to the pub through the front door and the exit through the door to the garden and out into the car park. We’ll have everything clearly signposted and marked so you’ll know exactly what to do.
There will be hand sanitiser stations at both the entry and exit doors and outside the toilets and we’d encourage you to use them as you arrive and throughout your stay.
When you arrive at the bar, we’ll take you to your table and take your orders for food and drinks.
We’d encourage booking a table in advance even if you’re planning to pop in for a few drinks, as walk-ins will be limited during peak times and we can’t break the social distancing rules. We’re booking tables in the garden in the same way too.
Due to Government Guidelines we are advised to stick to a maximum of 6 people per table.
As we’ve been really careful to plan the pub to meet the minimum social distance of a minimum 1m+, we ask that you don’t move any furniture, however much you want to feng shui the pub!
There will be signage to point out the best way to move around the pub, especially to the toilets.
Much as we love our little guests, we’d ask that children stay with you at all times.
Doggy friends are still welcome but we ask that they stay on leads, no matter how cute.
Please respect social distancing and personal space and be mindful that some people may be less comfortable than others.
As timings will be even more important to help manage space, please let us know if you’re running late or if anything changes with your booking as soon as you can.
All staff will have their temperature taken daily and they will also be using appropriate PPE.
There will be regular cleaning of door handles and common areas.
Most of all we want to see as many of you as possible. Please get in touch to book your table and we’ll make your time with us as enjoyable as possible.

Best wishes from Andy & the team at the Royal Oak!
