Mirth in abundance last Sarurday night at our monthly coned club.
Jack Carroll, Lorna Gray, Russ Cutts & Ethan Formstone were all utterly superb. Then the irrepressible Blank Peng raised the roof with casual aplomb. Well worth a tenner!
We are back on October 10th with another cracking line up including Daliso Chaponda (BGT runner up) & Pete Selwood (Comedy Central Live).

It's a change of bill for this Saturday's Comedy at the Calder, but it's an exciting one! Our new headliner is Blank Peng (her television credits include QI (BBC), The Last Leg & A Comedy Thing (Channel 4) and the BBC New Comedy Awards) and our first ever Chinese stand-up! It's CatC meets the CCP, plus Jack Carroll returns to help top the bill with brilliant support from Russ Cutts and Lorna Gray and MC Anthony J Brown. All for just £10! Here's the latest version of our What's On flyer...

As well as our usual mix of great music and comedy a couple of exciting departures from our norm coming up in November are;
On Sunday November 1st at 3.30pm. ‘An Audience without Jake Thackray.’ Those of a certain age may remember Jake Thackray as a staple of TV shows such as ‘That’s Life’ and ‘Braden’s Week’ performing wonderful comic songs in his broad Yorkshire accent, with a delivery heavily influenced by French ‘chansonnier’ Georges Brassons. John Watterson (Fake Thackery) brings us his celebration of Jake’s unique musical and poetic style.
On Wednesday 18th November from 7pm. The Calder Vale will be opening specially to present ‘An Evening with Sarah Gillespie and Chris Montague.’ We’re thrilled that these two brilliant songwriters and musicians have chosen to include The Calder Vale on their national tour! Sarah Gillespie is a critically acclaimed Anglo-American songwriter described by The Guardian as “an incandescent presence with superior lyrics.” Chris Montague is one of the UK’s most distinctive guitar voices. He has been called: “The UK’s greatest jazz guitarist since John McLaughlin” and is currently professor of Jazz Guitar at The Royal Academy of Music. Wiith support from Ryan Spendlove it’s going to be a fantastic evening.
