Important information, maybe.

Obviously you know by now we’re closed. It’s sad. We hate it.
We thought we’d make it to 10 years in our basement on Market Street but after issues upon issues with Yorkshire water that have now left us without power, we’ve had to make some fast, loose and hard choices on the future on the future of Now Serving…

We wanted to do have a large bash, big tenth birthday party 🥳. When the flats where Velvet Bar used to be opened we expected to have a closing party, and we hoped to see you all there.

It sucks but…

We can still have but it’ll be in our new home at the former Buzz below Unity Hall.

It’s an iconic building and a nostalgic basement where many bad decisions were made. So why buck a habit of a lifetime?

Loads of moving parts till then so we’ve set ourself the task of opening in a couple of months to make it the best possible version of our brand of dive bar that it can possibly be.

Right folks. Works are almost complete but we’ll still be closed for one more weekend.
That means another week holding court at Stereo Bar Wakefield, which we don’t mind. Everyone’s been very welcoming and it’s lovely to have an outside area.
Plus it means if you’re there on Saturday. We’ll be able to shout “have a a word ref” because sports or something.

While we’re still closed 😭due to repairs because of the roadworks and essential maintenance on the Victorian pipes running through our basement. You can still find echos of us in some of your other favourite places. Like the beer pong tables at Stereo Bar Wakefield

Situation update: currently there is still a big hole in the road! Things are taking longer than we first thought to get sorted, but all being well we will be open again Friday 26th June. We will have some big announcements coming next week, and for now Karaoke Club will remain at Stereo, so be sure to come down and see us Thursday at Stereo!
