Our Mariners Classics Menu has the nostalgic dishes that as a traditional pub we love to champion and our curry is one of those comfort dishes! ⁠🌶️⁠

The Goan ‘Kashmiri chilli madras’ has slow cooked chicken thighs, served with all the traditional condiments and trimmings, cucumber yoghurt, mango chutney 🥭, and lime pickle. Alongside is a warm, grilled caraway seeded naan bread 🫓, & braised rice, topped with crispy fried onions and fresh chilli. ⁠

Our favourite accompaniment is a cold, crisp pint of Offshore Pilsner. 🍺

An absolute classic British dish and one of our ultimate favourites is ‘The Mariners Ploughmans’. It has been a fixture on our menu since we opened our doors and is perfect alongside a cold pint of Doom Bar! ⁠🍺⁠

We serve ours with vintage Cornish cheddar 🧀, Stilton and Tamworth ham sourced from Philip Warren Master Butchers. We also love to hero incredibly rich yolk St Ewe eggs which we serve devilled. ⁠🤩⁠

Alongside is our garden salad, balsamic pickled onions🧅, piccalilli and a warm sourdough baguette🥖 with salted Cornish butter!

Meet our Team 🤩

Cornish born and bred, Josh has always had a love for food since a young age, encouraged by his family. A young gun in the Mariners Kitchen, Josh joined us whilst at college 2 years ago and has grown into an incredible, exciting and hard-working chef with so much potential for the future. Josh is currently working his way around all the sections in our Mariners Kitchen.

We are so proud of Josh and love watching our young kitchen team grow in confidence, really making the most of our wonderful industry.

What is your favourite thing to do in Cornwall?

My absolute favourite time of year is the summer months. Enjoying my time off at one of so many beautiful beaches we have here on the north coast, having a BBQ and cooking with friends and family and then watching the sunset can’t be beaten! 🌅

What is your best food experience?

In all honesty for me it’s my mums Christmas dinner and having all our family together for that! It’s just the best! 😍

What is your top 2 favourite ingredients to cook with?

Garlic-I just LOVE garlic I use in so much of my savoury cooking! 🧄

Honey - Both for sweet cooking and adding to savoury dishes. I love roasted veg with hard herbs and brushed with honey. Just adore this! 🍯

HAPPY NATIONAL OYSTER DAY!!! 🦪

We are so lucky here at the Mariners to have some of the most incredible oysters right on our doorstep just a few yards along the beach at .We serve ours lightly coated in panko breadcrumbs and fried until crisp, alongside tartare sauce and a squeeze of fresh lemon. 🍋

The Favourite Taramasalata has returned! 🍋🐟

Smoked whipped Cods roe with plenty of lemon juice, then served on grilled rye sourdough toast. Ours is topped with pickled cucumber and fresh dill, then lightly seasoned with dried seaweed powder, pimenton, and finished with lemon and lime zest.🍴

It’s the perfect plate to enjoy as a starter or a light lunch!

We are so excited to launch The Mariners Specials menu today! This menu is an opportunity to showcase some of the best seasonal ingredients from Cornwall’s land and seas, and for our guests to experience some of the exceptional produce we are surrounded by in the place we are so lucky to call home.😍

On our menu today is:

🌟 ½ pint of crisp king prawns, curried mayonnaise, lemon & lime. 🍤🍋

🌟 Rump of Cornish lamb, new season English asparagus with potato and garlic hash, finished with red wine sauce. 🍷🥔🧄

🌟 Philip Warren dry-aged bone-in cote de boeuf (for two). The Mariners Caesar salad, triple cooked Yukon Gold chips, with crisp Doom Bar onion rings, green peppercorn sauce. 🥗🥩

🌟 St Enodoc asparagus, brown butter, seaweed & lemon. 🍋

🌟 Spiced carrot cake, whipped cream cheese, roasted pecans with proper vanilla custard. 🥕

This menu will regularly change throughout the season, so keep an eye out for your returning favourites and lots of brand-new dishes! 😍🍴🍻
