A little taste of what’s coming… 😍

Our NEW MENU lands Monday 6th October, and we thought we’d start introducing you to a few of the new additions 🍂

First up…

🍔 Nacho Mac Burger - a grilled 6oz beef burger topped with fiery mac ’n’ cheese bites, nacho cheese sauce and jalapeños. Served on a toasted brioche bun with burger sauce, baby gem lettuce tomato & red onion, with sides of burger relish and crisp skin on fries 👌

🍫🍊 Chocolate Jaffa Cake - layers of orange sponge, tangy orange jelly and rich chocolate ganache. Served with chocolate sauce & chocolate ice cream… Yes please!

And these are just the beginning! Our new menu is packed with warming, comforting favourites made for the chillier months ahead… Proper pub food, cosy evenings and plenty of reasons to settle in and stay awhile 🔥🍴

Available from 6th October… so not long now 🤗

Looking to book a table? 👀

As things are getting busier here at the Horse & Jockey, we’d really recommend booking ahead wherever possible to avoid disappointment... and the best way to book with us is always by phone on 01522 468199 📞

Our phone signal at the pub can be a little temperamental, which means Facebook messages don’t always reach us straight away. They’re also not necessarily being monitored by someone who is actually at the pub with the booking diary in front of them, so while we’ll always do our best, a quick phone call is the safest way to make sure your table is properly booked in 😊

Booking ahead also really helps us. It means we can make sure we have the right number of staff on hand and give you the service and welcome we want everyone to receive.

For larger parties of 6 or more, we’ll always do our very best to accommodate you, but advance booking is especially helpful. We may also ask larger tables to pre-order their food, simply because it helps everything run more smoothly and means your whole group can relax and enjoy the occasion together.

And finally, a huge thank you for the continued support from the village and everyone further afield who has been coming through our doors ❤️ It’s because you’re keeping us busy that we’re writing posts like this… and we’re incredibly grateful for it! 🙏

Two proper Yorkshire ales on the bar right now…

We’ve currently got two Timothy Taylor favourites pouring here at the Horse & Jockey… Landlord and Boltmaker 🤗

Both have proved really popular, so if you’re a real ale fan, pop in and enjoy a pint while they’re on🍻

And keep an eye on the pumps… Old Peculier will be making an appearance very soon 👀

Starting Monday 28th September, we’re giving Monday nights a bit of a shake up with a brand new weekly quiz 🤗

Get your team together, brush up on those useless facts you never thought you’d need, and maybe start deciding who you definitely don’t want in charge! 😂

Did you know we show both Sky Sports & TNT Sports at The Horse & Jockey? 📺⚽🎯🎱

That means we can bring you plenty of the biggest sporting action, and with several screens around the pub, there’s a good chance we can keep more than one game on at the same time too 🤗

If you’re coming in specifically to watch the match, we have a screen in our sports room so you can settle in away from diners, plus a screen by the main bar. We also have screens positioned so sport can be viewed more quietly from different areas of the dining space.

So whether you’re joining us for the football, catching another big sporting event, or you’re part of a group where not everyone wants to sit right in front of the match, we can usually find a spot that works.
