We love the rain, we love great food, and we love Holly Baker.
On Saturday 26th September our dear friend Holly Baker will be cooking for you all at our inaugural supper club collab “Flavours of The Local”.. an evening celebrating seasonal cooking and the frankly excellent produce we have right here on our doorstep.
Originally from Ireland and currently cheffing locally in Fosbury, Holly’s love of feeding people eventually led her from restaurant kitchens to the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School, where she immersed herself in seasonal cooking, foraging and making the most of what’s growing around you.
Now living in the English countryside, Flavours of The Local is her love letter to the area, its seasons, hedgerows and brilliant local producers.
And so, we shall feast.
Berkshire chalk stream trout cured with local beetroot and Hawkridge Gin, wild mushroom pâté with Horton Bakehouse sourdough, slow-cooked Hampshire venison with blackberry jus, great dishes of gratin and greens for the table, and warm apple crumble to finish.
If summer is going to abandon us, we may as well eat extremely well about it.
