Who’s popping down the local this weekend? Last few days of warmth and a spots of sunshine before a week of rain. Might have to get the fires back on inside next week!

Not long to go until our beloved little beer fest!!! We can’t wait to see all of our favourite people (and hopefully some new faces!) from 2pm tomorrow ☀️ don’t forget there’s great food on all day and some proper good new ales. Come and get stuck in down at the local 🙌🏻

Big Bank Holiday Weekend plans incoming!!!!

We are of course bringing the music this bank holiday weekend (hardly surprising at this point). Sunday 24th you can expect loads of ridiculously good food - including roasts, pizza AND BBQ 🍖 - plus a full day of banging live music.

Our dream bank holiday weekend probably looks a bit like this:

Friday night: quiet pints and a hot meal at the pub
Saturday: sunshine, countryside walks and a couple of well-earned ales
Sunday: big Sunday energy at The George, local ales flowing, pizza flying out the oven and plenty of partying
Monday: hair of the dog at the pub because yes… we are OPENNNN 🍻

Come one, come all for a proper Sunday knees up at The George!!!

This coming bank holiday weekend our beer garden will be brimming with live music, local ales and amazing food 🙌🏻

We’ll have:
A full lineup of brilliant live acts
6 local ales & 3 ciders on tap
BBQ specials & our wood fired pizzas from 2pm–8pm
Roast dinners are still on between 12pm–2pm
And of course our meat raffle at 4pm

Bring the whole family, grab a pint, get stuck in and enjoy what’s shaping up to be a glorious afternoon at our little village pub 🫶🏻

Is there anything more British than a bank holiday weekend spent at the pub?

Make the most of the sun today while it’s here!!!

We’re excited to be showing off our new 4% house lager this weekend too, alongside four ales on the bar, including Ramsbury’s ‘Springer’ - a happy 4.1% IPA.

Wood-fired pizzas from 5pm today, and a full weekend of proper pub food to follow, including our much-loved Sunday roasts.

Small village freehouses are becoming like hens’ teeth - we’re proud to have our doors open, but it only works if people come through them. ⚔️

Local heroes, in every sense of the word.

Davina and Rupert St. Aubyn are a huge part of what makes The George what it is. Not just through Southern Wines, who have been behind our bar for years, but through the way they show up for this village time and time again.

Supportive, generous, and always quietly getting stuck in, they care deeply about both the craft and the community around it and that’s something you can feel.

Their latest venture, Rebel Wine, is a brilliant example of that same spirit. Thoughtful, innovative and helping shape something new.

We feel very lucky to call them friends of The George.
