International Rugby returns next month so we celebrate with the BBC’s Chris Jones over supper here on November 17. He’s a fiercely analytical and smart observer of the home nations and all their southern hemisphere rivals in the Nations Series. England will already have played Australia at that point, and tackle the All Blacks that weekend. And as ever, the Welsh are up against it, and Ireland are currently rebuilding. As Russia starts to annihilate the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, and with VERY disruptive plans for elsewhere in Europe, I’m surprised by the relatively low interest in our talk and discussion next week with Bob Shaw. Ex Uk Army, and special forces, formerly an adviser with UN Intelligence services, he’s talking about global conflict and whether we’re going to have to live and die with it for the foreseeable future. For the ageing among us, it might not be crucial— for the next generation it could be utterly vital.
To make it more interesting I’ve decided to make it a 30 pounds per person event, one great main supper course, plus lots of intelligent chat
Those who’ve already paid will get 15 pound credit on the night.
