Art Week at the Macphail! We have an exhibition of artwork by the children from Brushed Brilliant Yellow, art classes run by Rachel Grant.

You can see their gorgeous pictures in the Macphail corridor during library opening hours, ie 9-5 daily, plus 6-8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

🧵 Teatime performance! THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS (Krawiec z Invernessu) is in Ullapool at 4pm on Saturday 5th September.

Join us for one of Scotland’s most loved pieces of theatre, plus a bit of themed baking! We'll open the doors at 3pm, so come early for a brew and some special Polish cake.

🎸 This Tuesday, 1st September come to the Macphail for love, laughter, and a little bit of lunacy!

Glasgow-based Folksy Theatre are coming back to Ullapool by popular demand for a light-hearted performance of William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This show is a matinée performance, starting at 1pm.

Audience members of all ages are very welcome – bring a friend and step away from normal life for one enchanting Tuesday afternoon.

Folksy Theatre uses a mix of live performance, music, and a very versatile cast to create innovative, exciting and accessible touring theatre for all ages. We are excited to bring them back to Ullapool for their special take on this classic Shakespearean comedy.

Dogstar Theatre Company presents THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS (Krawiec z Invernessu):

This performance is at 4pm - come along any time after 3pm for a cup of tea and delicious cake before the show.

Matthew Zajac’s stunning show about his Polish-Ukrainian father has entranced over 40,000 people, playing in a huge variety of venues from prestigious theatres in cities which include New York, Adelaide, Glasgow, Kyiv, London, Malmo and Berlin, to tiny village halls.

This is a rare chance to see this unforgettable and moving story of displacement and survival in war-torn Europe, a powerful allegory for all victims of war.

🧵 Textile workshop at the Macphail! Navigating by Blackbird with Sheena Graham-George on Saturday 5th September.

Come along and sew, chat and celebrate the wonder of blackbird migration with artist Sheena Graham-George.

Be part of creating a blackbird migration banner as it travels from Orkney through Scotland and onwards to the Isle of Man and Ireland, connecting communities through stitches as it goes.

Everyone is welcome from beginners to more experienced stitchers.

Our textile workshops are in collaboration with An Talla Solais for Ullapool Art Week, to celebrate the play Tailor of Inverness which will be performed in the Macphail theatre on the same day.

Love, laughter, and a little bit of lunacy! Glasgow-based Folksy Theatre are coming back to Ullapool by popular demand on 1st September for a light-hearted performance of William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This show is a matinée performance. Audience members of all ages are very welcome – bring a friend and spend your Tuesday afternoon in this enchanted forest with us, where four young lovers flee the constraints of society and stumble into a realm ruled by mischievous fairies, feuding royalty, and a troupe of would-be actors with more enthusiasm than talent.
