A calmer, more welcoming space for patients at the Sunrise Centre

Thanks to generous donations to the Sunrise Centre (Clinical Oncology) Fund, a beautiful new coastal-themed wall vinyl has transformed a waiting area at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for patients arriving on stretcher trolleys for treatment.

Featuring a tranquil sea scene, the mural helps create a more peaceful environment for patients and their loved ones during what can often be an anxious time.

This project was made possible through fundraising by The William IV whose incredible support continues to make a real difference to people receiving cancer care in Cornwall. Inspired by customer Lee Barr, who is passionate about supporting the fund and will be taking on the London Marathon 2027, the pub's fundraising has funded this project and several other improvements for patients.

A huge thank you to everyone at The William IV and all those who have donated and supported their fundraising efforts. Your generosity is helping to improve the experience of patients and families when they need it most.
