The perfect place for an after-walk drink 🍻

Just a short walk from the Kennet & Avon Canal in Semington, the Somerset Arms was once a popular destination for locals and visitors. Now, we have the opportunity to bring it back and make it the perfect spot for walkers, cyclists, boaters and families to enjoy once again. ☀️

Whether you’re finishing a walk along the canal, taking a break on a weekend bike ride, or mooring up while travelling through, the Somerset we’re dreaming of would offer a warm welcome to everyone, good food, great company and a place to relax.

By supporting our campaign, you’re not just helping to reopen a pub, you’re helping bring back a valued community asset.

Every pledge takes us one step closer to reopening the Somerset Arms. Please support the campaign and help us bring this much-loved pub back to life.

Head to savethesomersetarms.co.uk to make your pledge before 1st August💪🌟

Save the Somerset Arms

What an amazing commitment from the community!
We have received £193,310 and 237 pledges, in just 6 weeks from a standing start! What an incredible achievement, imagine opening night... That's a very busy pub indeed!

When we started this process we could only have faith that everyone would realise the importance of the pub and step up to the challenge, and you have! The community has seen the value of owning the freehold, having a say and opening the Somerset Arms as something new, reimagined, not just a pub but much more - somewhere to meet, to catch up with friends over coffee or enjoy a lunchtime snack. Our community hub, central to the village.

Of course we will need more, but there is a new belief, a momentum, and we are now sure we can raise the money we need to make a reasonable offer on the pub. In the meantime, we have decided to continue the pledge stage until August 1st. This will allow us to push on and use the summer events in the village and local towns to give even more people the opportunity to commit to this exciting project.

It's all about you as a vital part of this community, thank you. Let's own the Somerset Arms and reopen it once again - together.

🚨 FINAL DAY TO PLEDGE 🚨

An amazing 239 supporters have already pledged £181,000 to help us purchase the Somerset Arms, but can we make it to £200,000 before the end of the day?

The pledge stage is a vital part of helping us put forward an offer on the pub, and every pledge - large or small - helps show the strength of support for keeping The Somerset Arms at the heart of our community.

If you’ve been thinking about pledging, now is the perfect time. Please visit savethesomersetarms.co.uk and make your pledge before the deadline tonight ⏰

Let’s finish with a flourish and show just how much this pub means to our community. 🍻🧡💪

Only 2 days left in our pledge stage! ⏰

We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received so far, with pledges now exceeding £175,000. Thank you to everyone who has backed the project and helped spread the word - it really means everything 🧡

With just two days remaining, it would be a fantastic achievement and a powerful demonstration of the support behind this project if we can make it to £200,000.

If you’ve been meaning to pledge, now is the perfect time. Every contribution helps move us closer, and sharing the campaign with others can make a real difference too. Interacting with this post is a great way to get it to more people!

Let’s see how far we can go together over these final two days. 🚀 Thank you so much for being part of the journey.

🚤 Our local boating community knows just how important it is to have welcoming places to stop, meet and connect.

With the canal bringing visitors and activity to our area, the reopening of the pub would create a vibrant hub for boaters, walkers, cyclists, local residents and visitors alike. It’s an opportunity to build something that supports the local economy, strengthens community connections and creates a destination everyone can enjoy.

We’re now in the final days of the campaign. If you’ve been thinking about pledging, please do so before Wednesday. Just head to savethesomersetarms.co.uk 🌟

Together, we can help create a bright future for this much-loved pub and the wider community. ❤️
