I’m Alison, a Level 4 qualified yoga teacher specialising in gentle yoga, breath work and meditation. Hi, I’m Alison and I am a Level 4 qualified yoga teacher who from personal experience is passionate about the benefits of yoga. I am keen to share my enthusiasm and knowledge with students through group classes and 1 to 1 sessions. Yoga found me late in life in what was a difficult period for me.

It helped restore my physical and mental health by calming my anxious thoughts and giving me the clarity I desperately needed to see my future more positively and clearly. Yoga gave me much sought after and needed pain relief where traditional therapies and medicines had failed. Where for years I’d struggled to sleep, my yoga ‘tool kit’ enabled the quality and quantity of my sleep to vastly improve. I feel so passionate about sharing this with you. In yoga we focus on bringing the mind and body into balance, to strengthen, to soften, to draw the mind inward, it is not just an exercise class, it is well-being. You will find my adult yoga classes really are suitable for all, from young to more mature years! – beginner to intermediate level, male as well as female and importantly, non-judgemental. Students can expect a relaxed atmosphere where classes will be gentle but challenging, focussing greatly on restorative poses, gentle flows, Yin Yoga, breath work and meditations; helping students build strength, flexibility and a more fulfilling and peaceful life. STAMPS

As many of you know, we have been collecting used stamps for several years to help Royal National Institute of Blind People raise funds. These funds help provide equipment and support for people who are blind or visually impaired, including items such as audio players that enable them to enjoy books and other resources.

For a long time, we have been sending the stamps in a pre-paid A4 envelope, which we fill completely. Each envelope usually contains around 800 grams of stamps.

However, due to the increasing cost of postage, the charity has advised that if we wish to continue this collection, we will need to cover the postage costs ourselves.

After some discussion, they have kindly offered us another option. They have provided me with a collection box (shown in the photograph below). Once the box is full, I will weigh it and request a pre-paid postage sticker, which will be emailed to me. I can then take the parcel to the Post Office.

So, are we all up for the challenge of filling the box?

I really hope we can continue with this, as our stamp collection helps to make a real difference to many people.

We use this restorative practice to reduce stress and anxiety by activating the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for the rest and digest activities that occur when the body is at rest.

Yoga Nidra allows you to access delta brainwaves, which are responsible for the healing and restoration that happens in your body during deep sleep. Activating delta brainwaves during Yoga Nidra allows your mind and body to rest while you're awake. Therefore this is the perfect choice for people who have a stressful job, who are recovering from injury/illness and for people who struggle to sleep well.

🌻Thank you to the 18 beautiful souls who turned up to restart their yoga practice with me today. We eased ourselves in gently with a healing yin practice which focussed on gratitude.

My gratitude goes to all of my loyal yogis; those who turned up today and those of you who have booked future classes. I’m looking forward to restarting our practice together over the coming weeks.

Thank you for accepting me as I am, not fully healed, with limitations but also with a heart full of gratitude.
