🎄 Christmas at Y Talbot 🎄

If the shops can start putting out the Christmas decorations and mince pies already, then we’re fairly sure you won’t mind us leaving this here... 😜

Dafydd’s Christmas menu is back from 24th November to 23rd December, full of seasonal favourites and a few Talbot twists on the classics – from his comforting roast vegetable & mushroom Wellington to a warm mincemeat & almond tart with vanilla ice cream. 🎅🍽️

Christmas parties are available for 12 people or more, but smaller group? Give us a shout – we’ll have selected dates when we can happily accommodate you too.

And because the person lumbered with organising the Christmas do deserves an easier life, we’ll keep things nice and simple. Pre-order and payment are required one week before your booking.

Then, if dinner alone isn't quite enough Christmas spirit for you... 👀

🍂 Autumn is coming to Tregaron… and we’re rather looking forward to it.

The scenery starts changing colour, the walking boots come back out, the evenings draw in and, before too long, we’ll be lighting the open fire again. 🔥

Come and escape for a night or two, enjoy award-winning food, a good bottle of something, friendly faces and absolutely no pressure to do very much at all.

Stay on a Sunday or Monday night and we’ll even include a bottle of w**e and a late checkout when you book direct – because nobody needs to be rushing home after breakfast. 🍷

We have limited availability left for September, but if you’re planning a cosy autumn or winter escape, there are some cracking rates to be had from November to March, with rooms starting from just £75 including breakfast.

One night. Two nights. Walking, eating, drinking, snoozing. We’re not here to judge. 😉

WE'RE HIRING – PART-TIME TEAM MEMBER

We're looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our team at Y Talbot in a varied role covering food & beverage service, bar work and housekeeping.

This is a permanent position of around 20 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours when required. No two days are necessarily the same – you could be helping prepare our hotel rooms for arriving guests, serving lunch in the restaurant or working behind the bar.

We're an independent pub, restaurant and hotel in the heart of Tregaron, with a warm and friendly team and a great mix of local customers and visitors. We're proud of the awards and recognition Y Talbot has received, but what matters most to us day-to-day is giving every guest a genuinely warm welcome, excellent service and a reason to come back.

We're looking for someone who:

🥰Is friendly, approachable and enjoys looking after people
👫Works well as part of a team and is happy to get stuck in
🤩Takes pride in maintaining high standards
🤓Is reliable, organised and able to work efficiently when we're busy
🧹🍺🍽️Is comfortable working across different areas of the business
📆Is available for a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts

Previous hospitality experience would be useful, but attitude and personality are just as important. Training will be provided and there's plenty of opportunity to learn more about different areas of the business.

Hours: Around 20 hours per week, with additional hours available when required
Contract: Permanent, part-time
Pay: National Minimum Wage, with potential to increase for the right candidate
Start: Available immediately
Shifts: Hours and shift patterns will vary and will include weekdays and weekends

🥤 Some good news from behind the bar… we've actually LOWERED some prices! 😲
We've given our soft drinks range a little refresh, with some familiar favourites sporting a new look and a new San Pellegrino flavoured water joining the line-up.

But the best bit? We've been able to reduce the price of some of our soft drinks by as much as 50p. 🙌

With seemingly everything getting more expensive these days, it makes a rather pleasant change to be able to move a few prices in the opposite direction!

Great news for families, designated drivers and anyone who fancies something cold and refreshing without the alcohol.

More choice, lower prices. Now there's something you don't hear very often! 😎🥤
