💔 It breaks our hearts to say this, but the rumours are true…

Despite the team working incredibly hard behind the scenes, due to some unexpected issues and financial pressures, the club will sadly be closing from this Tuesday.

This hasn’t been an easy decision — far from it. The club means so much to so many people, and it’s been at the heart of our community for years.

We’re truly sorry to be in this position, but we’re holding onto hope that this is not the end.

🙏 The plan is to reopen in a few weeks, in a stronger and more secure position.

To everyone who’s supported us so far, to our loyal members & those who have donated time, money and energy — thank you.
Your kindness, loyalty, and love for the club means everything.

We’ll keep you updated, and we hope to welcome you back through the doors very soon.

Absolutely no need for this level of disrespect and awful behaviour! May well be time for all the pubs & clubs to come together and stamp this issue once and for all.

Rant….

Those who know me, will know that I’m a pretty easy going person and I have a lot of time for people. I don’t judge- what you choose to do in your lives is completely your choice.

BUT- when your choices affect my home and my business, I’m not so easy going. I’ll always be vocal about it, because people need to be aware:

I closed early last night because I’d had enough of people thinking it’s ok to to disrespect this place. After monitoring the toilets, it was evident that drugs were rife in both the men’s and the ladies; so much so that our detector wipes have stained the toilet roll holder! (Hopefully it’ll come off eventually).

I’m not having it! If this is what you need to enjoy a night out, go somewhere else. Those who did it, ruined the night for everyone else and will potentially ruin it further; If it continues, we just won’t use our late licence and that’s one less place to go for late drinks. I have a lot going on personally and I took this pub on with the goal of cleaning it up and inviting families, not for financial gain or anything else, but to keep the doors open and stop another pub being boarded up. I’m at a difficult time in my personal life and I’ve had another curve ball with my health, but I still open those doors everyday and work hard to make this a nice place to be. At a time when I should not have stress, I am worried about having to leave my business (whilst I have treatment) for someone else to deal with.

This is a licensed premises and allowing this behaviour to continue could potentially put me as the licence holder in a lot of trouble (potentially prison). I won’t ’turn a blind eye’.

If I have to pay people to monitor the toilets all night to stop you doing drugs (and leaving it in every crevice), then I will. One thing about my personal position in life right now is, I have become very focused on putting things right.

It takes alot to make me angry and I can assure you that I am fuming. I will be contacting the police and I will be inviting drug inspections, so if it’s what you do and you want to avoid being caught, take your cr*p elsewhere.
