Soak family 🤍
This is a post we never imagined writing.
Over three years ago, Soak Lifestyle began as a dream on Abbey Sands, one built on sea air, coffee, community and connection. Two years ago, that dream was quite literally swept into the sea. We honestly thought that was the end.
What happened next is something we will never forget.
Because of an incredible friend, and a truly unbelievable community, you helped lift us back up. You donated, shared, showed up, cheered us on and gave us the boost we needed to rebuild and try again. And because of you, we did.
But the truth is, behind the scenes it has become increasingly hard. Lease complications, planning challenges, rising costs the hospitality industry is facing and the overall strain of operating in that location have made it unsustainable for us long term. This year we proved that we can run Soak remotely and our team did an amazing job, but financially and emotionally, without being owner-operated on site, it’s just been too much.
After a lot of thought, and with very heavy hearts, we’ve made the decision to move back to Cornwall and not return for the 2026 season.
This place, and this community, will always hold a massive piece of our hearts. Soak was never just a business it was people, moments, friendships, laughter, early mornings, wild weather days and shared memories we’ll treasure forever.
Thank you for backing us. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for being part of Soak.
With so much love and gratitude,
Laura & Sean
