**Claxon**
We are fit-to-bursting giggling with juvenile delight to announce that Adrian Cox will play at Little Mill Oast on Saturday 24th July.
The internationally-acclaimed jazz clarinettist Adrian Cox, at age 38, is certainly at the top of his game. He was nominated for Jazz Clarinettist of the Year (British Jazz Awards 2019) and his last album Profoundly Blue was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year (UK Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2019).
In 2018, Adrian was invited to perform with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at London’s famous Barbican Centre, playing the music from the Benny Goodman 1938 Carnegie Hall concert. Cox then went on to perform in New York at the gala concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Lincoln Centre, and was amongst guests including the great Tony Bennett.
With his own band, Adrian has been touring the globe performing music from his project Profoundly Blue, which celebrates the music of jazz clarinet legend Edmond Hall, with sell-out concerts at Ronnie Scott’s (London) and Dizzy’s Club (New York) being amongst the highlights of the 200+ shows.
Adrian will be joined by co-Kansas Smitty's House band Founder Dave Archer on Guitar and acclaimed Bassist Will Sach.
For the last year Adrian has played live weekly to an online audience every Sunday. Each week he has been highlighting one of the greatest jazz musicians and curating a programme around their work. It has been joyous.
Adrian plays traditional jazz standards mixed with some of his own beautiful tunes.
The venue is on the second floor with no lift.
Audience will be seated around large circular tables. Please bring nibbles and drinks. We will not be requiring audience members to wear face masks. Hand sanitiser will be available on every table.
By buying a ticket you recognise that you are attending a music performance and will respect the musicians while they are performing by keeping noise to a minimum.
