Well… that’s a wrap 🍻👑💛

And what a way to finish!

We quite literally drank the Crown & Anchor dry today! The draught kept running out, it was the mixers next and by the end we were down to left over Pinot, Disaronno with J20’s and then some questionable bottles that we bought on holiday! 😂

We sang our hearts out, we danced, we laughed and at the end of the night, we said a few words that meant more to us than we could probably ever put into a Facebook post 💛

Five years ago we walked into the Crown & Anchor not really knowing what it would hold in store for us and what we got was so much more than a pub, we got a community.

To our staff, past and present, thank you ❤️
Thank you for every busy shift, every drink, every late night, every laugh behind the bar, every time you stepped up when we needed you to and for being such a huge part of our lives. We genuinely couldn’t have done any of it without you!

And to our customers, thank you for making the Crown what it is today 🍻
Thank you for choosing our pub. For the pints, the parties, the quizzes, the trips, the random nights that turned into brilliant ones, and for all the friendships and memories we’ve made along the way.

A pub is just a building without the people inside it, and we’ve been so incredibly lucky with ours.

Tonight was everything we could have wanted our last night to be, absolutely chaotic, VERY stressful, completely ridiculous, emotional and full of the people who have made the last five years so special.

There have been highs, lows, stressful days and some of the best nights of our lives, but we wouldn’t change it for the world 🌍

We’re leaving the Crown with sore heads, sore feet, probably no voice left… and a ridiculous amount of memories 😂❤️

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank every single person who has been a part of it, we love you all!!

We came as landlord and landlady but we’re leaving with friends for life 💛

A sad day as we say goodbye to the greatest landlords of them all, Kirsty Wilkinson & Miles Bainbridge, who leave the The Crown & Anchor - Sowerby tomorrow. They’ve turned the pub into the best in town & we’ve been so proud to call them our sponsor. Thank you for the late nights & great pints, we will see you in Sutton!

📣 An important update from us 📣

I’m sure most of you have heard by now, but we wanted to share with you all that after an amazing 5 years we will be leaving the Crown & Anchor on Tuesday 1st September 🥺

We would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful staff, customers, friends, family and the local community who have all supported us throughout our time here (well the majority of them 💦🙈🤣). We’ve made so many memories and it’s been an absolute privilege to be part of such a fantastic village.

While we are very sad to be saying goodbye, we’re also excited to share that we’ve been given an amazing new opportunity at The Whitestonecliffe Inn and we can’t wait to begin this new chapter!

We’d love to see as many of you as possible before we leave, so please pop in over the coming weeks for a drink, a meal and to help us celebrate everything we’ve shared together.

We’d also be delighted if you’d continue to support us at The Whitestonecliffe Inn. We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new ones as we start this exciting adventure.
