❤️ A LONG Message From Us at The Hunter’s Moon ❤️
When we first took on The Hunter’s Moon, we knew we had a huge job ahead of us. We threw absolutely everything we had into renovating the place, a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into making it what it is today.
Now, two and a half years later, we can genuinely say, we wouldn’t change it for the world.
The memories we’ve made, the people we’ve met and the friendships that have come from this place will stay with us forever.
But one thing we’ve learnt along the way is just how difficult winter is here in New Hedges.
Once the caravan parks close and the summer season comes to an end, unfortunately there simply isn’t enough custom coming through the doors to keep a building like this going.
And while we cannot thank our wonderful locals enough for continuing to support us, the reality is that with the ever increasing cost of heating, electricity, wages and everything else that comes with running a business like ours, it just isn’t enough to cover the bills through those long winter months.
So, we have made an incredibly difficult decision to close the hunters moon for the winter.
We want to be completely open and honest when we say that this decision has become unavoidable.
It is not something we wanted to do, and certainly not something we have taken lightly.
We have tried everything we can to make the winter months work, but we simply cannot continue to accumulate bills and costs when the custom isn’t there to cover them.
As much as it pains us, sometimes you have to make the hardest decision in order to give yourself the chance of having a future, and that is what we are trying to do.
This isn’t us saying goodbye forever.
But right now we can’t make any promises. We need to get through the winter, take some time and see what the future holds.
To every single person who has walked through our doors over the last two and a half years, whether you came for a meal, a pint, a celebration, or simply popped in for a chat….. thank you!
Every bit of support has meant more to us than you will ever know.
But most importantly, to our staff….
You have been absolutely incredible. ❤️ You have stood beside us through the crazy busy days, the quiet ones, the stressful ones and everything in between.
The reputation The Hunter’s Moon has built wouldn’t have been possible without you. You’re so much more than staff to us, and we genuinely cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done.
We are absolutely gutted that it has come to this, but we are also incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
So Sunday 13th September, Ironman, will be our last trading day this year.
Come and commiserate with us, come and celebrate the last two and a half years with us, have a laugh, probably shed a few tears…
But most importantly come drink the bar dry 🍻
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an unforgettable 2 and half years!
Whatever happens next, The Hunter’s Moon will always hold a very special place in our hearts. ❤️
