Tenby Past Ladies Captains Golf Event ⛳

On Monday 8 June, the annual ‘Tenby Past Ladies Captain’ golf competition and lunch took place.

Ten Past Lady Captains headed out into the course to play for the historic Clareston Cup in a 14-hole competition. First played for in 1988, it remains a fondly contested trophy.

Heather Morgan and Sarah Waring both returned excellent scores of 28 points, with Heather taking the cup on countback, giving her a real double whammy this year, having also won the Pembrokeshire Ladies Past Captains competition back in April.

Everyone then enjoyed lunch in The Links Restaurant, joined by a further six Past Lady Captains. It’s always wonderful to see so many Past Captains coming together, catching up with news, sharing stories from years gone by, and keeping these lovely traditions alive. It really does make days like these extra special.

Thursday 11th June dawned dull and murky, but that did little to dampen spirits as the fourth annual TenLand Trophy brought together the ladies of Langland Bay Golf Club ltd and Tenby Golf Club for a wonderful day of golf, friendship and fun — this year on home turf at Tenby. A hard-fought contest saw the home team retain the Shield in fine style.

Huge thanks to Lady Captain Helen and Langland’s Vice Captain Paula for masterful organisation — no small feat when herding cats! Thanks also to the greens team for presenting the course beautifully despite the weather, and to The Links Restaurant for a fabulous post-match meal. What started as a dull day certainly finished on a friendship high! ⛳️

Tuesday Tipplers Take a Terrific Tour to Trefloyne
The Tuesday Tipplers packed their passports, polished their clubs and embarked on a tremendous tour to Trefloyne this week. Granted, it's only about two miles from Tenby, but a proper Tipplers outing is all about attitude.
The golf was tackled with varying degrees of talent and determination before attention turned to the really important business of the day — enjoying a tipple on the terrace in the glorious early summer sunshine.
A special Tipplers welcome to Gill John, making her first appearance with the group. We're delighted to report she survived and has not yet requested a transfer.
After much tallying, totting up and occasional questioning of the arithmetic, the prizes were awarded:
🥉 Third Place (£5 each) – Lynne, Vee and Diana
🥈 Second Place (Tippling Towels) – Rebecca, Anna and Michaela
🥇 First Place – Beth, Julie T and Ruth, who triumphed to take top honours.
Diana Dredge also claimed the Closest to the Pin prize with a fine effort.
The Longest Drive competition was hotly contested by Heather Buckett, Alison Daniel and Wendy Allen before being snapped up by a competitor team from Machynys.
There was terrific golf, tremendous company, tasty tipples and plenty of terrace chat. In short, everything the Tuesday Tipplers do best.
Many thanks to everyone at Trefloyne for their warm hospitality and for helping make the day such an enjoyable one.

Tenby Women in Golf Enjoy Bryn Meadows Getaway

Thirty ladies from Tenby Women in Golf recently enjoyed a fabulous two-night trip to Bryn Meadows, with plenty of golf, laughter, friendship and a little bit of Welsh weather thrown in.

The group took on Bryn Meadows’ testing parkland course in conditions ranging from winter-like chill to glorious sunshine, with some excellent golf played across both days.

A huge thank you goes to Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa for their warm hospitality, excellent food and beautifully presented course.

💜 Lady Captain's Charity Day — What a Fabulous Day! 💜
A brilliant turnout of 34 ladies came together today for Lady Captain Helen Hughes's Charity Day in aid of Alzheimer's Society — and what a day it was! Sunshine, scrambles, and serious fun on the fairways. 🏌️‍♀️✨
The 3-ball Texas Scramble format brought out the best in everyone — laughter, a little light competitive grumbling, and some truly inspired golf (and some less inspired, but we won't dwell on that 😉).
A huge thank you to our wonderful Green Staff for the absolutely fabulous course set-up — the course looked and played beautifully, and it really made the day. 💚
Thanks too to the brilliant team in the 19th for keeping us all watered, fed, and happy before and after the match — pre-match provisions and post-match celebrations enjoyed by all! 🥂
And the very best news of all — together we raised a magnificent £750 for Alzheimer's Society. 💜 In Helen's words: "My sister and I are so grateful for your kindness and generosity."
